Despite the themes this is a shounen series. The story is drama following high school girl, who finds abandoned child. Coincidentally the child is offspring of her classmate [1]. The story is short, but to the point. Main character Momoko is very likeable. Actions of child’s mother Wakaba are understandable. Main villain is total scumbag. I appreciate the series does show even the villain, who wants to get rid off the baby i.e. kill it understands there is no difference between killing baby before or after it’s born. It shows how children from dysfunctional families are viable target for predators by exploiting the need for parental love and affection. It also shows people aren’t what they might seem superficially albeit the series does hint the father strongly.

Visually the series is average. It’s good enough for me. There is no mind-blowing art, but it conveys well what it wants.

Overall, very good short series with good ending. Despite the dark elements its appeal lies in portrayal of motherly traits in good light. I enjoyed it. It’s nothing overly original, but I like it.

Japanese difficulty 4/10 (see my profile for details about various difficulty scores)

The series is shounen with furigana. If this were Josei manga there wouldn’t be need for furigana, because not only the text volume and density is average, but also overall vocabulary and grammar difficulty is not high.
