I have recently had more time to enjoy anime and manga.
I have been an anime and cartoon fan for all my life, preferring it over any other type of movie. Im still not up to speed with terms, Im more interested in the story and ideas conveyyed. Unfortunately Im useless with languages and therefore can only watch anime translated into English which I see as a major downfall.
I brought up my son with anime and manga, his first manga was Barefoot Gen and his first anime was Pokemon. We also covered all the ghibli anime and a lot more since. We loved sitting on the sofa watching anime together, though now he is at university so I have a lot more time.
Type of anime and manga I like: Romance, Family friendly, LGBT, Spirits and spiritual, Folktales, Slice of life, comedy, historical, sci-fi, isekai, reincarnation, cats
Type of anime I dont usually watch: Vampires, Lots of killings or violence, Psychological thrillers, Zombies, Horror,
I also dont tend to watch anime where you see girls panties or boobs all over the place (sorry, it just does not interest me) though when Im bored I will overlook a certain amount of it. Though I do like semi-naked men (hehehehe!!!) and feel I could easily melt into some of those eyes!
My manga ratings are usually for ones that stand out as I tend to read a few one-shots or short completed manga in one go. The ones that are mundane I dont tend to rate. I also drop quite a few mangas, this could be due to the font size or the storyline. Most of the manga I read are yaoi or romance and usually have a "mature" theme.
I look forward to making some friends I can chat with about anime and manga.

Jan 2019 update: Im hoping this year I can get through most of my "stalled" anime, as well as watching some fantastic new anime episodes and films that are coming out. I, of course will be looking at what else takes my fancy to watch. I hope everyone enjoys this year and may it bring everyone peace and happiness. I've updated my avatar to reflect the new me in 2019.

Jan 2020 update: Ive been given a large tablet and found a great manga app, which suits me down to a T. This is making reading and tracking my manga much easier. Ive also "unread" some manga where I only managed the first chapter and nothing more. Im hoping this new year will bring some fantastic new anime and manga for all of us. Gotta say, I've been pretty rubbish this season. I've only kept up with two series - My Hero Academia and Steins Gate. I think it was a combination of being super busy and not really being interested in anything this season, but oh well.
Sounds like you had a pretty good selection of series this time around, glad to hear you had some cool things to watch. Would you recommend any of them for me?
Next season actually looks a lot better for me. I probably still won't watch that much, but I'm super hyped for the Space Battleship Tiramisu sequel, that time I got reincarnated as a slime and Jingai san no Yome. Oh, and the Natsume Yuujinchou movie!! There can never be enough Natsume.
Oh right, I guess we both are fine with the babbling :p

It really is wonderful when you can get the kids excited. It feels so rewarding. Glad to see you enjoyed it too 😃
And yes, there is a lot to cover nowdays. Teaching the pupils how to utilize certain technological equipment is actually set right beside other important things such as reading and writing. In some schools they are bringing in more and more laptops and ipads while dropping books is also a thing. In just a few years the plan we teachers follow will be change massively. Just in time for when I finish my education in 2022. It can be hard for the older teachers who may have to abandon routines they have had for years. Many of them also have to take up some more studies to keep up with the changes. Teacher life is a little all over the place atm. At least here in Norway it is.

I actually wanna be an english teacher too. My first goal when choosing education was to find one that would give a profession where english is central. English is by definition a foreign language here and Ive always enjoyed using it. Im not 100% sure about who I wanna teach yet. I have only attended Uni for half a year. Ive only tried teaching 5-7th graders. By your system that is primary I believe. Kinda of scary at first, but also really fun. And of course I love people, so that is also a big bonus for me when choosing this profession. Oh, sorry for the rambling 😫
Business seems like a fine direction to go. It was one of the things I considered a while back actually. Im sure he is and will do great there! 😁
Poor guy, we seem to be in a very similar spot. Exams soon and Im about to get my fourth assignment. Its great that he keeps in touch though :)
May I ask what he is studying for? Im studying to become a teacher myself
