Dang! This one takes me back. This may have been one of the first animes I watched I I can still highly recommend it. You all know the story but be warned this is not the Disney or any of the more modern versions. There are no real villains in this film. This one stays true to Hans Christian Andersons story which means it's a bit of a sad, tragic though very meaningful ending. Still brings a few tears to this day. The animation and visiuals are dated and the music too but thats to be expected it is however a very solid story and worth watching.
See full reviewWell now this was a surprise! I went in for the panty shots but found myself more interested in the story... what a switch.Honestly this is one of the best examples yet of having your cake and ice cream too. Story: The Story stays tight, focusing on the small group and as sucit's able to keep a good pacing. There's no gran quest, no, saving the world, it's a story abouta small group of strangers become friends that are trying to survive in a world where the dead walk. Heck forget anime this has one of the best stories in the Zombie genre period. Characters: Again, nice and... See full review
This was one of the first examples of modern anime I saw... waaay back when. I recently gave it another watch and yeah it stands the test of time nicely. The story, is pretty well paced, though it admittedly feels a little rushed towards the end. The musice, again quite well done. Nothing fancy but it sets mood and tone and makes almost seamless transition between. Animation, hard to say, it's good for theperiod and even now it still looks good. The characters are good and yeah some are pretty laughable even if unintentionally Yeah DOrisbut I gotta say any gal thatcan utter the phrase 'I'm... See full review
Another coin-op to screen cash in and sadly like many it utterly fails to be anything but mildly entertaining at best and bizzarely inconsistent other times.. Seriously why is Andy's hair blue? did know one who worked on this even look at a screen shot from the game? or the cabinet art? STory wise it follows the story of the game pretty well though the game didn't have more than the generic, seeking vengence thing. Animation wise.. pretty poor. I mean astoundingly so considering this is a fighting anime about a fighting game yet the fights are all forgetable, brief and poorly... See full review
This hails from the crop of coin-op to screen cash, but where as most of them at least tried to cash in on memorable or popular franchises this movie didn't bother to do either. Now to give perspective Gowcaizer the game was at best an average fighterthe fighters were forgettable, the moves were cookie cutter and outside one gimmick it was easilya solid C-list SNK fighter I mean seriothis had no sequels and no cameos in other games. The movie is thusly as you might expect. I think the arcade game was able to tell a more cohesive story. Now while I know all films in this genre suffer from the 'cram as... See full review
If you liked the OVA's you'll probably disappointed with this. Now while it does flesh out the story behind some of the characters and their personalities it manages to do so in a surprisingly dull and boring manner which takes alot of work with a fighting anime. The animation is subpar and the style is somewhat weak. The fights are typically quick and unfortunately the moves portrayed never look impressive. Long story short it was cheap. An anime that sells itself on fighting really needs only one thing to succeed well done fight scenes but this...just dropped the ball.
See full reviewOi vey! You know there's anime, there's fan service and then there's this... Now I will be the first to cofes to having a soft spot for magical girl anime especially with cute outfits but this ... anime ventures in to unfomfortable territory. Now I dunno what the makers claim but there's really only one way to describ, lolicon service and for those of you who know you can understand why and those that don it's not a good thing. I can appreciate though that in Japan it probably makes for a camp/gag anime and it seems to be very self concious of what it is. That I can respect. The... See full review
Okay now this is something I haven't seen in a while. a good strongly story driven anime.Strangely enough though many people know it by the video game, most of the interesting stuff takes place in the 'before' stage. Seeing how the characters got to their respective situations. The action isn't to be sneezed at either and it actually goes the route of trying to keep realism in view if not in focus.. culd go on and on but all i can say is WATCH IT!. You will thank yourself.
See full reviewNow seriously. I love panty shots, but I swear to the heavens above that this anime almost cured me of that love. It's kind of like how everyone loves chocolate but very few people will be able to stand the sight let alone taste of chocolate after eating 8 lbs of the stuff a day for a week. This is pretty much a the truth of Najica...too much of a good thing. Realy there is a story but the writers never give you the chance to focus on it much, . I think this anime may have set the record on gratuitous panty shots. There's almost no point in counting. No that said, the action when it happens and... See full review
Honestly the score is just a guard/. This series was pretty good. Now I could go into story depths and the complexity characters and interwoven stories. But sadly that would make me a liar. Most of the characters are 'one note' even Maki herself. The story is fairly cliched and the progression is somewhat predictable.AND IT WORKS!Seriously, this is an Action,/FIghting Anime, and as such the fights never disappoint. Now while I said the characters are all one note, the strange thing is in theis context each of those notes come together to player a rather catchy and enjoyable tune. And yeah there are...
