Punch Line

Aug 13, 2015

It's amazing how many elements and themes they put into 12 episodes. Magical girl transformation, time travel,  gender flipping, it's like a list of various Japanese otaku culture themes from previous anime series put together into one cohesive plot arc and small group of close characters.

Every few episodes, I got surprised by the theme and genre shifts they did. Which was refreshing, new, and changed the feeling of the plot. The use of colors and music for comedy, in this series also appealed to me. The overall tone fits closer to Dog Days at the end and the end of Steins;Gate for the primary plot drive.

  • NOITAMINA has done another great job with a new hybrid thematical presentation.

The way they put this series together is well done. The introduction presents itself as one genre and begins to explain the pantsu power as if it was a shounen series. But it begins splitting pretty fast at episode 4-6. A nice innovative twist along with some mystery elements and thinking on the part of the audience, may unravel more plot elements. It strikes a good balance between not explaining everything and leaving enough things ambiguous for the reader to make intellectual interpretations.
