Truth or Dare

Jan 20, 2021

I'm still wondering why they couldn't check the person's tongue real quick to determine if they're a truth or dare, it might take out the fun if it's that easy so there are prolly conditions that need to be met in order to find out. YET they still make it visible when that idol culprit sticked out his tongue. That shit confused me. Anyway I salute the concept, they painted the people capable of lying as an anomaly just to keep their "truthful" environment a homogeneous norm, like preaching some kinda black & white justice in some sense.

Unripe Expression

Jan 19, 2021

Dis is the ugly side of things if Heesu ends up with Chanyeong (similar vibe at the beginning to Heesu in Class 2). This manhwa is exactly that, but with the professed (Karam) reciprocating at the end and he gets paired with MC (Jaewon). When Junseo enters the picture it's obviously pointing towards a love triangle scheme, but then the red dude Yoonsung gotta step in and transform it into a male harem. After the harem set is complete, it's just the dudes fooling around and making Jaewon blush.  As you can see most peeps' shipping hearts are destroyed by the official pairing, mine was too on that note... Down and Dirty

Jan 19, 2021

I thought this was one of those rapey, taking advantage, assault yaoi reads at first, well it DOES have those occurrences so read at your own discretion. There's more to it than the unpleasant parts. SPOILERS: The first season is dark as in making ends meet-in-the-slums dark, Hyungdo has no time for sustaining pride, the dude threw himself into shady jobs (shooting porn, waiting tables, run errands at Gyung's club) just to SURVIVE. Additionally, Gyung the love interest, as y'know gives off an aura of the usual manipulative prick, a pimp puppeteer to put it simply. He ruined lots of men's lives by selling... See full review

Save Me

Jan 18, 2021

Ever wanted truck-sama to grant your dying wish so badly coz you felt obligated to get isekaied into the manhwa world, join forces with a vigilante at hand, AND SERVE KARMA TO irredeemable dirtbags COLD?? WELL FOLKS this manhwa gave me the urge to serve delicious retribution with Namsoo!! But it's fiction so screw that thought.  SPOILERS AHEAD: There's a lot of foreshadowing in the story with Namsoo taking first place (has always been Hyeong previously), Namsoo's smile being called similar to Hyeong's, and even his real name on the notebook (but we didn't know that far ahead yet it was just a clue)... The Chart of Priest

Jan 18, 2021

HOLD IT DID THEY DROP THIS...? I just reached 130 chapters and it ended in a cliffhanger with Cliff's (oh it's a pun) hero backstory being played out. I looked at the author's works it seems to me that they're drained from a creative burnout and just dived into new projects since new ideas always seep through the brain of a mind that's constantly generating new concepts. Chart of priest, with its abundant characters, lore, and holy city's history, these are all components that could keep this series running forever... and it's already taken few years of the author's life so it's understandable that they... Ascend

Jan 17, 2021

Shen and the teacher's romantic development happened way too fast, what like, after that bar incident & hotel stay the feelings just magically became mutual for the both of them... too fast-paced for my taste since they've over 100 chapters to develop it. They also wrapped things up last minute in the final chapter with showing Shen's past admiration for the teacher's works and with the teacher's brother's hospitalisation event. The middle part of the story came off too easy, which led to the end being stuffed with the relative few hints they've shown throughout the chapters to reach a conclusion (ie... See full review

Lover Boy (Zec)

Jan 16, 2021

I get that failed past relationships will make you miserable and NOT want to date again but MAN Jaeha's indecisiveness really gets on my nerves... after getting the courage to tell his newfound feelings to lover boy Eunho (who has been crushing him for years) he just simply destroyed it after spending some quality time BECAUSE he wants Eunho to have a secure future, and the CAUSE of it?? Being shaken by Eunho's family's words for crying out loud.  Their journey felt tedious ngl since it's a slice of life drama without any action/fantasy elements it's bound to be a dragged out slow burn with the... December Rain

Jan 16, 2021

December rain obviously points to the metaphorical elements they've presented in the story- Born as babies in December (you'll know), meeting & parting in December, so on.... it's reflective of Sunchae and Gusam's chance encounter, which only lasted for less than a month like *ooof* "the December rain". Now it's a bit depressing at times given how fucked up both their backgrounds are, one being accused of murder (which is still left ambiguous in the story), the other being disowned coz of being a homosexual. So naturally like how story couples go, that shred of messed up connectedness will... See full review

Oh! My Assistant

Jan 15, 2021

These two sweeties..... it's fun to watch them misunderstand each other in the beginning-middle of the series, yeah it's common in the genre but in a good & cute way. It's all fluff until you're like around 30++ chapters in the story where a certain someone got into an accident and put a rift between Seonho & Muyeong, that's the part where they shy away from the fluff and get down to seriousness. Seonho's angry expressions was drawn well in those chapters it did show that he ain't putting up with that certain someone's shit.  Side note: Props to the indifferent Muyeong for turning two dudes Bi... Scent of a Witch

Jan 15, 2021

In the land of Uren lies the witches who can transform into beautiful seductresses under a full moon for the sole purpose of sacrificing men to increase their natural abilities (ie: keen eyesight, hearing, clairvoyance, etc).  Noah/El is the only male witch amongst them and he can only turn into female every full moon due to his cursed fate since birth. So he happened to encounter the third prince Ryan in his female form, spent a passionate night with him (twice to be exact), while also hesitated sacrificing him. This led Ryan to be filled with thoughts of Noah afterwards in the castle and that's how... See full review

Eunsuk & Jung-gu

Jan 15, 2021

folks dis a black comedy about a gigolo (Eunsuk) looking after a carefree gangster with dirty addiction (Junggu) and they both live under one roof. Yes your guess is right about what they usually do inside the same house, they met in high school, got reunited with one another again after a few years to become domestic partners with benefits. There really isn't a concrete storyline it's more towards the characters' antics & weirdass proclivities. The blue comedy detracts the darker side from Junggu's circumstance. Once you've reached 46 chapters you'll get to see alternate versions of these two (eg... See full review

Dark Heaven

Jan 14, 2021

This one's a deviation from most BLs I've read as it covers heavy topics related to human rights (utilising pejoratives too) which some comics wouldn't even dare go near. I like how they included the bystanders' convo on intersectionality and how society only bats an eye to these issues when a white person is involved, I was afraid they wouldn't address that but am glad they did. Oh and that megaphone speech on the streets is fucking spectacular. I know I'm a bit picky but the flashbacks are waaaay too long, it's fine if you shove one in to correspond to a present day scene but when it took up too many... See full review

My Girlfriend is a Real Man

Jan 13, 2021

I just read it coz my brain needed a break, this manhwa doesn't really bother to be serious lol the author even made reference to their other work "Untouchable". The comedy bits get dull over time and the ML's insecurity about his sexuality just really infuriates you to the point you wanna smack em, i dunno how gender-bend FL has the patience to put up with his denial ffs it's hard to watch

These little shorts are simply beautiful as expected of the artist who did wolf in the house!!!!  So there are seven of them in total, each titled (in chronological order) Take 8, M's study, Preference & prejudice, Therapist, Trainer, Banker and lastly Phantom. Characters all have some degree of connections with each other and you'll see their roles play out in other shorts too.  Phantom will end tragically I'm warning ya, there will also be couples with huge age gaps and dem performing BDSM plays (softcore at best if ya ask me not really explicit tbh), which mainly took place in shorts like... Out of Control

Jan 12, 2021

Unlike your typical shonen-ai tales that only feature bishis for eyes to feast, this particular one has a your-not-so-average egalitarian cutie as protagonist. It openly conveys a message that no one on earth is fucking perfect, and you love your partner for who they are not for how they look, except for a side couple in the story whose ironic portrayal contradicts what the other couples' relationships are about.  And these two ironic mofos are Heeno & Aerak, they fell for each other's looks only lmao... the redhead who loved Aerak is the saddest character out of all of em I'd say, coz he'd been... Viewfinder

Jan 11, 2021

Ok hunty I get some BL stories like having several side couples if they're going down the long chapters route but the secondary pair is uncalled for. It's called "viewfinder" & yet the second couple gets an official ending while the main first just somehow gets tossed aside without a closed conclusion. It's disappointing I'm afraid to say. They shoud just make it a separate series if they're going to cram another love story in there.  The plot is generic, the bit that UNREALISTICALLY STOOD OUT for me was Haemin's one-month growth spurt. He went from being a bottom-looking timid boy to a... See full review

As You Wish

Jan 11, 2021

The magical elements in this timeline should be set up more concisely, the capacity of its usage ain't shown until the climax where Ray barges in and whoops Will (is it Will again? Nevermind) with some grandiose telekinetic ability type shit.  The murder mystery was made to seem like the central focus of the plot but instead it's sidetracked by the romantic bits between Ein & Ray (which I appreciate wholeheartedly) and get chucked to be a mere side plot. You dun feel like investing any eager fascinations in that part of the story anymore. And Will?? Dang my memories might be failing me but I dun... See full review

Behind the Desks

Jan 10, 2021

It falls right into that cliched storyline- love triangle, miscommunications, AND the cheesiest scenario to fall in love at first sight, which is touching your bedridden crush's eyes and the crush just happens to catch you basking in a lover's glow and becomes enamoured too loool.  That aside, the love contender Kwon Young is perhaps the most tolerable love rival you can find amongst all those love triangle stories out there. He IS controlling but not in a yandere way where he needs to "tear off the limbs" of the uke just so they can only belong to him. FAMILIAR MUCH? That's legit one of the... See full review

Obey Me

Jan 9, 2021

I know what I signed up for when I heard the title but on the contrary the cover looks pretty tamed that's how I got into it. Turns out it's just another cluster of knockoff regurgitated ideas from Killing Stalking, Warehouse, and False memories.  The root causes for the characters' behaviours are shallow, Gyuh-wool's just another cheap psycho stalker whose reason for this obsessiveness is his *ahem* love-deprived childhood. He's also gifted with incredible psycho stamina (ie: leg strength) that could pounce on you even after getting thrusted with a knife several times.  In this world, money... See full review

To Take an Enemy's Heart

Jan 8, 2021

This historical yaoi is beautiful from the characters, costume designs, soap drama, to the copious sex scenes that is just plain magnifique *muah*.  LOVE TRANSCENDS HATE and Igen's long-held vindictive desire towards the Azukun clan only melts away after spending time with Kasan, one of the last two surviving Azukus (the other being his evilass brother). The two didn't start off well, there were literal stabbings, distrusts, and threats that arose between them. It made sense & all since they're both sworn enemies, this cycle of revenge began the day Kasan's father committed acts of unforgivable... See full review

19 Days

Jan 7, 2021

Don't get intimidated by the chapters length it's a surprisingly light-read with short panels, you can breeze through it while still laugh at the daily shenanigans the four main pull. It ain't plot-heavy and it's laced with slapstick comedies & plentiful dick jokes scenarios occasioned by clumsy slips. The first pair Jian Yi & Zheng Xi gives off the best chemistry since they're childhood friends and all whilst the second pair He Tian & Mo are still kinda at the same stage after many chapters since Mo's a fucking irate tsundere who resists Tian's advances every time they're together. Indulged In Your Radiance

Jan 6, 2021

It's decent, and like the usual- two polar opposites who change each other by unlocking their closed off hearts which sooner progressed into a relationship. I haven't read salad days yet but I know they'll be similar on certain levels, like the young naive ballet boy. It'd be perfect if they break stereotypes by stripping away that innocent ballerina archetype, and well THEY DID by compensating that trait with Tong Yang's versatility in Chinese opera arts (I forgot the name), where the field requires him to cross-dress and sing; in spite of the feminine elegance he displays in this profession he ain't no... A fictional story that features a dystopian landscape plagued by the many issues our current society is facing also- human rights crisis, social caste system, pollution, trafficking + human experimentation, police brutality, dirty government schemes, AND THE LIST JUST GOES ON.  The set up is great, the detailed art and toned down colours accentuated the grim nature of the world they're in, the bleakness of the land, and also brings out the characters' expressions well. It's this with a dash of Mad Max+X-men elements mixed in.  The ending could've been so gooood had the author draw a few more... See full review

My heart is fluttering from all the wholesome joy these two lovebirds gave me the characters are likeable & the simple artwork fits right in with the mood. Talk about pda and shit but you still hid it pretty well dun ya.
