I started feeling iffy bout this whole thing as they use more and more collections of tales as frame stories but you know what I DUN care since they do serve a purpose in developing the main characters. It's quite a lengthy read still I assure you it's all worthwhile once you reach the end.

A BL twist of the original Middle Eastern folktale:

Shahryar was smitten with the dancer Fatima whom was his father's mistress and after he rose to the position of Sultan he took Fatima as his bride. Even so she exposed her cheating ass in front of him one day which launched Shahryar's routine madness of taking virgin women into his harem then killing them the next day to action. He was a ruthless bitch who kill because of one woman, that was until Sehara took his sister Dunya's place in the harem by disguising himself as a woman. Of course Shahryar's straightness couldn't be bent that easily so he threw Sehara into the dungeon for him to await death. That's where Sehara began telling stories to appease this tyrant and became a royal bard soon after. Talk about seizing opportunities.

This manhwa features him reciting the tales in different situations to relate to the current mood they're in. That's also how Shahryar shows changes in his character, the last mini story is a total original created by Shahryar alone and it's the CUTEST shit you'll ever read after all those classic ones. It feels like an epic by the later half of the story... there's this escalation to war between Shahryar & his brother Shazaman followed by the English army's invasion. The scale raised from just brotherly conflict to a religious one real quickly.

As much as Shahryar is an ass tyrant to his subjects and as much as Fatima is a cheating floozy to Shahryar's tyrannical ass, the manhwa carefully depicted their reasons for this so we wouldn't judge them biasedly no matter what. Shahryar has found new meaning after time spent with Sehara, he also gone through rough shits that stripped him of his dignity as Sultan, in other words he received adequate punishments in exchange for closing old wounds regarding Fatima through meeting Sehara.... tho it's never enough after murdering that many young girls tbh.

8/10 story
