"We are the Kazama family! Don't forget it!" is the phrase that can sum up the strong bond, the strong relationship between this group of childhood friends. This is not a normal group though: the girls in it are all fighters! And the boys? Well, the boys watch the overwhelming power of those hot-headed girls. That's who the Kazama family is!

Plus/minus considerations:

  • STORY: Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai! suffers from an incredibly misleading start. For how it is introduced, it looks like a fighting manga with a lot of strong girls and passive boys, which is not. There's a reason why MajiKoi is based on an eroge. This manga just after one chapter shows its real nature: an ecchi harem with nudity and some amount of action. If in the first chapters it seemed the protagonist was Momoyo, after one single chapter everything revolves and involves the strategist Yamato, the only one who can hang with every single female character and nonetheless our harem king. Another big issue was the urgency in introducing all the relevant characters in one single chapter, making it really confusing. Once you get used to them, MajiKoi turns into a light ecchi read that surprised me in positive. It's evident this manga is based on a VN (eroge) because the shiptrain welcomes aboard every single girl leaving every door open for Yamato (even boys actually). The ending looks axed, I heard the VN continues and it has much more to offer. If I have to judge the story based on this manga, it's enjoyable but the beginning is misleading, the love relationships are not properly developed and the ending looks like a random mediocre finale picked from the eroge. (+)
  • ART: I like the art style quite a lot. I don't know what's the deal with Chris' tits in this manga becuase they are gigantic when she's naked and she looks like a surfboard in other scenes. Still lovely facial features and the artist showed talent not only in the physiognomical aspects, but also the backgrounds and the dynamic scenes look great. Good amount of butt shots as expected from an ecchi harem. Yakoz approved. (++)
  • CHARACTERS: as said in the beginning, this manga suffers a bit from a misleading main character. The actual MC is Yamato, not Momoyo like chapter 1 tried to picture her. When this issue is solved and all the guys from the Kazama group are introduced, you can really enjoy this beautiful cast. All sorts of personalities likeable for different reasons, even the male characters who tend to be irrelevant in most harem. Props for adding a character like Miyako who single handledly valued the comedy in MajiKoi with her lewd actions and lines, hands down best character of this manga. (++)

What started as a really confusing comedic action manga, turned out to be a really good ecchi harem with different funny moments. Readable story fueled by many interesting characters and a good looking art style. Can't wait to play the eroge now.
