Hensuki: Are you willing to fall in love with a pervert, as long as she’s a cutie?

Nov 30, 2019

I would call this a reverse pervert anime. The girls are the perverts, whereas the guy, in comparison, is tame. The recommended audience would be for those who are looking for a blend of comedy that relies on perverted material as the main appeal, along with a blend of romance that serious, but the intentions are genuine. The idea is fairly straight forward, there are a handful of girls mostly lusting for the main guy. He himself is on a quest to try and find out who left a pair of panties with a love letter. As you can guess, this isn't for those that want something serious or with much... See full review

Killing Bites

Dec 17, 2018

The content is a bit on the mature side. Expect some scenes that are close to hentai stuff, but without the nudity (IE: snake "tentacles"). The format is battle royale style. People are playing a game, and are using animal people (called Therians) as pawns, to strategically fight on a large field, and come out the winner. What you see for most of the time though, is all the action on the field. If you want an action/battle anime, you will probably enjoy this, so long as you can also get behind some of the mature content. The ending is left very open, with a lot more to tell story wise. While... See full review

Kill La Kill

May 31, 2018

Amazing, tons of comedy and action with a interesting story that can properly keep my attention span focused on it at all times. The anime itself comes off quite wacky thanks to the artstyle, characters, dialogue, and personalities. The story also takes 1 or more large twists that you would not see coming, so there is a lot more offered than whatever your initial perceptions are. There is a clear distinction and split between the first half of the episodes and the second half. You will find the first half to be extremely funny, combined with lots of action. I wish that this would have continued... See full review

Good Luck Girl!

May 28, 2018

If you want something that is primarily for lots of laughs, give this a shot. It is incredibly funny and if I had to compare it to 1 other Anime, it would be Gintama. Some of the personalities are actually very similar too. There is some direction and story to everything. The description defines it in detail, but it's basically a game of cat and mouse with the poverty god constantly trying to come after Icichiko's happy essence in order to evenly distribute it to others. Don't come here for that though or expect much, the whole goal of said story is to make for goofy entertainment. The interactions and... See full review

Chaika: The Coffin Princess

May 14, 2018

First of all, this is NOT a comedy. If you are looking for something to get a good amount of laughs out of, search elsewhere. I was quite annoyed as there wasn't 1 moment throughout the 4 hours that even drew a smile (and I love and watch a ton of comedy) The story is more serious in nature in that it some bodyguards are hired to help assist in the retrieval of relics and protect Chaika. There is a lot of action as this showcases what the guards do best, and probably the most interesting part to watch in the Anime. It's just not good is the unfortunate part. The animation looks like this aired around 2006... See full review

Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor

May 10, 2018

It's good for some fun and action. The story is more or less serious, despite the teacher goofing off. However, this feels more like an introduction storyline, the beginning of what is to come (or of what isn't). There is no mention of these Akashic Records until a single line in the last episode, so in that sense, it is incredibly incomplete. It's also clear that the main opposition has yet to appear, and the light is only shed on them very briefly at the end, hence it feeling like the whole season is just the starting chapter. With that said, there has to be a season 2 or more, or else a lot of the... See full review

Death Parade

May 4, 2018

Unfortunately, it's all over the place and doesn't seem sure of what it's supposed to be. The starting episode is interesting and leads you to believe this will be something along the lines of a life and death game with torture elements, where one person wins and loses. This ends up being false, and these games serve a different purpose, making them seem rather irrelevant. The intensity also drops, as the future games (except 1) are rather casual in comparison. There is no guarantee 1 person lives and dies, it's possible for both to end up with the same fate. What makes things worse is that the showing of... See full review

Ghost Hunt

May 2, 2018

This is, simply put, an Anime version of any paranormal investigation/research show you have seen on TV such as Ghost Adventures or any of the many others that were common back around 2007. There are a total of 8 cases that vary in episode counts across the 25 eps. I found them to get more interesting with each one, with the last 2 cases being very entertaining. The first few eps weren't all that alluring though, so I recommend getting into case 2 before deciding whether or not to go on, else skip to around ep 16 and start with case 7 for the more "horror/scary" themed stuff. As this is case... See full review

Castlevania

Apr 28, 2018

It's boring, nothing like the game, and has too many tags that are only relevant for 2-4 mins of the entire 90mins that span across the 4 episodes. Most of the time is spent following this Belmont guy as he talks, and talks, and seems to take up 90% of the screen and dialogue time. It only started to get my interest within the last 5 mins of episode 4. That says a lot considering I am heavily biased in favor of almost any vampire / horror, you just don't feel like those elements are present. The animation looks great and has the right look for the tags, but that alone can't carry it. I have not played the... See full review

Food Wars! The Second Plate

Apr 27, 2018

This season is mostly about the fall competition where we left off at. What is unique this time is that the outcomes are far less predictable, afterall, these competitions aren't win or be expelled. This keeps it fresh and interesting as most battles span 2 episodes. You can see who the main focal cast is based on the picture by the description. The other characters you are familiar with do appear briefly or as small supportive roles. The last set of episodes feature some sort of out of school training program. It feels mostly as a filler and relaxer as we move from serious competitions to more of a real... See full review

Food Wars! Shokugeki no Souma

Apr 25, 2018

This is the Anime version of Iron Chef / MasterChef with the elite intensity of any Gordon Ramsey show. If you like that, you will like this, if you don't, this will probably be boring as it's mostly about food & competition. I would say that it's at the top of the list and near perfect in terms of satisfying that role if Anime food competition is within your interests. There is something rather unusual that needs to be addressed though, look through the tags and find the odd one standing out for a food show.... Ecchi There are what I would call "erotic" scenes where people end up naked... Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody

Apr 17, 2018

What you get here is an MMO game themed world without any of the excitement, except for quite a few loli characters. It's really bland and there doesn't seem to have been any goal or reasoning for this to exist. The first episode creates some scenario about going from developing the game to suddenly being trapped in a game just like it, then we never see anything further related to that. There are no attempts made to understand why it happened or try and get out of it. You get a tiny bit of dungeon action, then random occurances such as meeting girls/lolis, helping out the odd villager, ignoring the love... See full review

Teasing Master Takagi-san

Apr 17, 2018

This anime is the "what happens when 2 young high school students like each other" scenario, along with lots of foreheads taking up the screen. It is pretty episode based with each episode divided into 3-4 small skits lasting around 5 mins each, the main variation being the locations or activity. It starts out amusing for an episode or 2, but once you realize that what happens in episode 1 is what you get for episode 2-12, the enjoyment decreases and things get rather repetitive. It's all about the girl teasing the guy, and the guy overthinking everything in an attempt to get back at her. It's... See full review

Maerchen Maedchen

Apr 14, 2018

Giving this a low score due to the choice by the company to drop this, leaving it incomplete, rather than air the last 2 episodes. Failure to see something through and leaving something hanging shows lack of respect to their viewers, so they don't deserve any back. You can more or less guess how things will end, but it got cut off at the main event of the story which negates the whole purpose, leaving not a whole lot of reason to actually watch it. Will be updated if 11/12 are ever added. The title is German for Fairytail Girls. There are a few other German words and it does draw in on some... See full review

Junji Ito "Collection"

Apr 4, 2018

The best word to describe this Anime would be "rollercoaster". It is viewer pending, but for every episode that is decent, or actually entertaining, there is also one that is boring or bad. It is an episode based Anime which makes it a bit easier to deal with, much like the Hell Girl Series, or any of those other ghost story style Anime. Each episode is split into 2 stories, this works both in favor and against it as you only have to put up with 10 minutes per story, and can easily skip things if you want. By the end of it, I was about 50/50 for the amount of episodes I would rank between 5-10 and... See full review

How to Keep a Mummy

Apr 4, 2018

An enjoyable Anime if you ever wondered what your life might be like if one of your plushies were to become alive and have a personality. It is really cute with a fair amount of humor, and at the same time, that is all it really offers, but just that alone is really enjoyable. There is no real purpose or story, it's the daily interactions between a few characters and their special "pets", so if you want a meaningful story, it isn't here. These special "pets" make a simple noise, each have a specific personality, and are the major selling point for the Anime. This, combined with... See full review

The Ryuo's Work is Never Done!

Mar 30, 2018

An anime that makes a board game appear 100x more intense than what it should be, right down to being physically exhausted somehow. This will be for very few, primarily those that are into board games, specifically, Japanese chess (Shogi). They use a lot of Shogi related terms, so I am sure this would be more appealing for those that might understand the game. The flow and presentation is a bit odd. The controversial aspect are the Lolis. The first episode starts out fine, but quickly Lolis start being tossed in and some questionable scenarios develop. It's almost as if the writers weren't confident that... See full review

Laid-Back Camp

Mar 29, 2018

What you get is exactly what the English name says, an extremely relaxed Anime where camping is the overall theme. I recommend watching this while having a meal, if you tend to get hungry seeing food, otherwise before bed. It's really quite different and while the premise sounds boring and it's true that there's nothing overly eventful, just how casually relaxing it is and that uniqueness make it entertaining. You don't have to be into camping or the outdoors, I hate those things and wouldn't dare venture outside my room without my gaming setup, but even a person like that is able to enjoy this. Yes, it... Gamers!

Mar 19, 2018

The primary reason to watch this Anime would be for the comedy. It is quite funny all the way through, with a good amount of it relying on misunderstandings and being awkward. At it's core, the story plays out mostly about relationship material. Between the 5 characters involved, it's all over in who is cheating and liking who which makes it crazy at times. There is one part where it gets so crazy, you can't keep track of what's happening. Still, it's really entertaining so long as you aren't hoping for any serious romance aspects, or something that is super logical. Gaming is oddly enough, not the primary... See full review

Toradora!

Mar 18, 2018

This is one of this Anime you have to stick with to get the full understanding and enjoyment. There is a lot more to it than what you see at the surface, as there are 25 eps and not 12. Taiga is rather brutish early on, and it might turn several viewers off, however she does change quite massively and things do take a turn towards the last 1/4 of the episodes. I think it's important to stress this fact, as it makes the difference on your impression of the Anime, and you miss out on the best parts that make this more in depth than several other Tsundere Anime. The Familiar of Zero F

Feb 28, 2018

The start of this season continues the story from the end of the last season. However, it is actually over almost quickly as it began. The rest of the season is filled with.. well there is a relaxation period, where the focus shifts on comedy. You get a lot of that perverted comedy material that has been present in the last 2 seasons. After that though, there is actually another story component and character component. The character aspect finishes off the storyline for one of them. While not super exciting, it seemed done out of obligation to tie off the loose end due to the relevance of said character... The Familiar of Zero: "Rondo" of Princesses

Feb 25, 2018

This season answers the big question from S2, what on earth happened to Saito at the end of it, although it doesn't happen for a while. The formula is a bit different again too, it takes that more adventurous feel from S1, the perversion level from S2, and adds in a daily life style theme. There is no major, serious story this time. We are somewhat introduced to one, but that seems to be a build up for the next season. The characters that felt more benched in S2 will be having more presence again this time. Enjoying the dynamic of the full group being there rather than our main duo, it made things more... See full review

The Familiar of Zero: Knight of the Twin Moons

Feb 21, 2018

Unfortunately, only season 1 got an English version, a bit of an annoyance to have to switch because comparing both, the English fit the characters better for me. This season focuses a lot on the war that was starting up in the first season. Also unlike the first season, this one is quite a bit more perverted. Even for it being just another season, it somehow feels really different, especially in terms of presentation and the general theme. These episodes strike a roughly equal balance of seriousness with the whole war theme, and the other half being the perverted content. I don't think think it was quite... See full review

The Familiar of Zero

Feb 20, 2018

The first minutes in and immediately you get this Harry Potter vibe. Even some of the characters resemble it, along with their cloaks. The story takes place amongst people of the nobility class, with peasents mixed in. Many of them do present a nobility like personality, so that gives you an idea what to except. There are also a few bits of the real world mixed into this fantasy world, which make things a bit mysterious in regards to their origins, and the story behind it. The opening kind of spoils things.. pretty hard, even though it was partially expected. The comedy is quite good. A fair chunk of... See full review

Place to Place

Feb 19, 2018

A cute anime that is decently funny, although definitely more cute than funny. I wouldn't say it is much on the romance department, as nothing in there really happens in any form of depth. The art style used makes most characters look really young, including the teacher, but they are in high school. Given the description on the Anime, I would say it felt rather inconclusive. Each episode consists of 2 stories, or sometimes the first one continues on into part B. The timeline of the Anime takes place over various events that spread out across 1 year. You get most of the standard scenarios such as a school... See full review

The comedy is mostly perverted in nature, so if that's not your thing, you probably don't need to bother watching. The story seems unfinished, and left very open ended, possibly in case they decide on wanting to do another season. There are also a few twists that make it harder to predict what's coming. The story isn't deep or something super new, but the comedy and girls make up for it, and feel like the important components. The magical action is also interesting, with most characters having a very distinctive magic type, some in physical forms, some in the traditional form, and some in a very ... See full review

Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de

Feb 17, 2018

Starting off with the tags, it gives the impression that it is a sex filled Anime, and that would be false. The incest portion is rather light, and comes more down to it being more about an obsessive behavior than anything. The sisters have a few brief scenes, but little happens. The nudity component isn't really that big either. There are topless scenes and a fair amount of panties, but the animation looks really old, therefore not heavily emphasizing it much in the way of sexual appeal. The major issue I had is the sound quality, no matter which link I used, the sound quality is of the lowest grade I have... See full review

Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren't They?

Feb 15, 2018

Given the amount of cute girls, loli's, and rabbit girl, you would expect a lot of perverted content, but this Anime is very tame and managed to keep their full clothing on 98% of the time. The story and journey are amazing, but 10 episodes is not even close to being enough to cover everything, and how much potential there was, there could have been so much more, easily 50+ eps worth. That is the only issue I found, which leads to a lot of content that never got a whole lot of depth and a story that seems somewhat rushed and unfinished, or possibly all the material in between that could have been... The story is beautiful and more romance oriented, something that separates itself from other MMO themed Anime. That said, to enjoy the Anime to the fullest, being an MMO player yourself would be the best as the story is what would be considered "the ultimate dream" for many players. Not being familiar with the concept of meeting and or dating someone online will ruin a lot of the appeal. The other unique bit is that the characters are not your typical 12-19 range, these characters are in late 20's / 30's. There are some big twists to the story that reveal itself over time. Feb 12, 2018

Great comedy that is rather unusual. It won't be for everyone as everything relies on the main character. She is very anti-social and awkward, and kind of crazy. To some degree, she is on the extreme side of things, to the point of where it doesn't even seem natural for a human anymore, and that could be a turn off for some. There is also a good chance many viewers will be able to relate to the character to some extent, and that, combined with how funny it is, will make it an enjoyable watch.
