The anime version of the board game "Clue" basically (quite a few references to it). The first 1.5 episodes are not all that great until the story premise is revealed which is where things turn real. The change was so major it went from something I thought I won't like to something I loved.

As this is a mystery anime, nothing can be said except that it follows a pattern of someone is killed, the group has to figure out who and vote on it. The twist is the life or death rules involved. Aside from this, there is a evolving story about the location, and how things got to be this way. The pace was a bit fast where there should have possibly been more clues, although you can figure everything out based on what is shown, it just requires a extreme attention to detail. Overall, it was extremely enjoyable, even without having had any previous exposure to the Danganronpa environment. It is one of those anime that makes you want to watch the next episode because you can't wait to see what happens.

The cast of characters is large and varies greatly. They picked the correct ones to keep around longest though as they play thier roles. While none really stand out individually but the cast as a whole are quite entertaining. Monokuma the bear is pretty epic though and a character you won't forget.

What else really stood out is the art style which was pretty colorful and wild. Also they replace the color of blood with neon pink which really added to its unique feel.

The ending theme is really epic.

Would love to see this anime be repeated multiple times with different characters and story settings. Need more Monokuma time!
