ok so akira yea not for me.... I read two of the giant manga books on it and was like mindfuck 0_0 ..... so much science fiction shit going on. Im happy because i just bought the final 4 volumes of rosario vampire season 1 to read today so i have the complete set now.... and i got a sick game of thrones T at the book store..... in case you dont notice i usually dont i posted why i got into anime and manga to answer your question below.
I watched the kiddie shit like pokemon and shamen king growing up but one day in 5th grade my friend gave me a copy of cowboy bebop to read. I instantly fell in love with the art, the violence, the *ahem* ladies. People always told me it was wierd stuff you shouldnt get into as a hobby; however, im kinda a hipster (as my friends tell me ) So i literally was like yea ummmmm fuck this and i started reading anime. I started off with action type stuff like black cat and naruto. I still like black cat to this day but naruto and oither shonen stuff just doesnt seem deep enough anymore. I really like harem comedy stuff like love hina, rosario + vampire and also dark shit like highschool of the dead or deathnote. I then started making friends online who recommended sekirei to me and i bought both seasons i loved it so much. Now im getting into anime hardcore in addition to my manga collection. I guess I just like stuff thats not super mainstream but i also enjoy like archer, game of thrones, and workaholics for non anime stuff :).
