Seven Mortal Sins

Oct 21, 2018

A very educational representation of the seven deadly sins and Christianity. As a scholar of ancient Catholic text, I approve the religious teachings of this anime based on the catechisms of the Catholic Church by Pope Pius the II  in the ecumenical council of Trent. He preached that the 7 deadly mortal sins consist of a furry, a Loli, and tsunderes, and use magic. People pray to angels and Michael the archangel was a girl.   I give this anime 10/10 for symbolism, plot, and deconstruction of Christian beliefs.

Yugo the Negotiator

Apr 25, 2018

It’s really boring. If the title “Yugo the negotiator” doesn’t make you sleepy, it takes place in Pakistan and Russia. I’m way to uncultured to understand it because I had to watch the commentary . The commentary explains things like the azan, the al-Fatiha , ivan IV, Vladimir 1, Russian discos, and bankruptcy of the USSR . Outside of that, the anime is just long pans of exposition of Japanese man negotiating. The plot copies from Naruto when he tries to negotiate with Sasuke. Yugo goes to a country, gets tortured, and comes back, just like Naruto. In the name of Allah, the... See full review

Fate/Apocrypha

Apr 24, 2018

Broken down , Fate Apocrypha is essentially about waifus.. Except this time it is dressed up as a historical battle royals. Frankenstein is a waifu, Jack the Ripper is waifu, Jeanne de arc is waifu, King Arthur is a waifu. Nothing important happens and it’s basically , “ waifu wars the animation”. They are color coded (red waifu, green waifu, purple waifu, pink waifu) and hit all the cliches ( traps, lolis, cat girls, danderes, tsunderes, yanderes). It’s also way better than Fate Zero and Fate Stay Night. If boring lectures on backstory and flashbacks makes the Fate franchise... See full review

Prison School

Dec 17, 2016

This is one of the first anime that introduced me to the ecchi genre. Yes, it is everything you expected. But, if you just expected only bondage play and fanservice, you will be pleasantly surprised by the charming characters and clever plot. The story is about a the first group of males at an all girls school who get arrested by the student council and sent to prison. Hence prison school. Then, through twelve episodes it is a blend of prison break and random comedy scenes and funny interactions between the guards and inmates. Every time I was wondering how far the concept would be taken and it... See full review

Persona 4 the Animation

Oct 31, 2016

If you are in the mood to watch a story about bunch of high school students using the power of friendship to solve the mystery and save the day, Persona 4 is a good choice. It's the anime version of the typical young adult story: Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Twilight, Maze Runner. List goes on and on but you can get the point why this series exist and has fanboys. It's a wacky premise. Kids get thrown into TVs. Making friends gives you the power to create Personas. The kids summon personas to fight other personas.

Story wise, it is follows a long running anime format with 2-3 episode character arcs... See full review

Chaika: The Coffin Princess

Oct 24, 2016

If you have ever seen the Chaika face meme, this is the anime where it came from. As a given, she is cute. And, the show delivers on its moe girls and adds extra trashy elements. The episodes follow action shonen format where "group meets people" of the week mixed with a harem ( loli dragon, step-sister/training partner, and Chaika). As they meet people, you develop characters, rehash the story of the Great War, and uncover the mystery of Chaika. It was totally predictable. Spoilers. Chaika was a safety mechanism to revive the dead king. Then through the power of friendship, the group defeats... See full review

Schwarzesmarken

Sep 13, 2016

To sum up Schwarzesmarken, it's basically the story of operation Valkyrie
or the Nazi coup'dèta that tried to kill Hitler. But, add mechas, aliens, boobs, and a couple 15 year old girls. It keeps your attention with enough fan service and nice military uniforms to pay attention to the political parts while waiting for the robot fight. And The robot fights definitely deliver. You will see a scene where squad of robots mow down thousands of aliens. Blood would splatter all over the screen while the little sister characters says" onii-chan" . Other times, it would be robots vs robots... See full review

Heaven's Lost Property

Jul 29, 2016

Heaven's Lost Property is a slapstick comedy show about a teenage boy who becomes the master of an angel fallen to earth ( Heaven's Lost Property). The show is heavy on cringe comedy, toilet humor, political incorrectness, and surreal plot lines. Furthermore, the motif of being a pervert appear excessively in every episode to the point of sex crimes. Actually, I'm surprised it's not R-rated. Yet,that combination of moral depravity and surreal plot lines creates a very over-the-top and funny anime to watch. I laughed out loud over every episode. Again,This show is very politically incorrect, perverted... See full review
