The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today

Feb 16, 2024

It's actually wonderful! I could really relate as a pet owner, made me wish my dog would bother her distinguished self to lift her chubby bottom off the bed and cook me a meal... I was not too impressed with the animation at first but soon it won a place in my heat and I've missed it since it was finished. It became one of my comfort shows and I really want another season.

Undead Unluck

Jan 1, 2024

It's decent for a superpowers shounen show, but what kinda ruins it for me is how the writers use sexual assault as comic relief. It's sad more than anything, and very excessive. Fuuko is a terribly written character as well, with stereotypical characteristics that show how these writers aren't very familiar with women and don't value them very much. I liked the opening though, and some characters are more lovable then others. Overall I'd say it'd be a decent show for you if you haven't experienced sexual assault or if you don't respect women.

Ouran High School Host Club

Sep 2, 2023

So, I first watched it over a decade ago when I was a teenager, and absolutely loved it.  Now rewatching as an adult, this show is kinda meh while also being really problematic at times. I'm at episode 9 now and very happy that stuff like that wouldn't dare airing today. I've seen fans saying there should be a remake done like fruits basket, but honestly the source material is pretty bad and it's way past the era for blatant misogynistic content like that. This show was a gem in the 2000s but doesn't at all pass the vibe check in 2023.

Horimiya: The Missing Pieces

Aug 27, 2023

It's pretty good. Funny and lighthearted, though it feels like the whole plot is one miscommunication after another. It gets a little old, but at least the misunderstandings are resolved quickly. The animation is pretty. Overall it's decently fun to watch.

Play It Cool, Guys

Jul 1, 2023

This anime is about 4 (later becomes 5) guys who are super clumsy and mess up a lot, each one has a different way of looking at these frequent accidents. I'll start by saying I could relate so much, and enjoyed this anime immensely. The show has this funny and lightheaded way of looking at these accidents, and it's really starting to stick to me and make me develop a more chill outlook on life. Just the other day I squeezed a packet of gel too hard (again) and it shot out and spilled all over the floor. Last time it happened I was upset, but this time it reminded me of the funny guys from the show and... See full review

Tight-rope

Jun 4, 2023

I can't say it's anything more than decent, but the opening, oh the opening!! I felt like I was teleported 10 years back in time. It made me feel incredibly nostalgic and reminded me of the first animes that I watched back in the beginning of the 2010's. It was worth watching if only for that! Nothing about it was too bad or too great either, it was a short and cute story, not too problematic at all.

You and Me.

Jun 2, 2023

I LOVED IT! I agree that it's a pretty sleepy anime, but I found it cute and enjoyed it every night a bit before going to sleep. It was so calming and I loved the relaxed vibes. The characters are (almost) all likable even though they're pretty simple.(especially Masaki-chan who was annoying at first but turned out to be best girl) The cute cats all throughout!!! Loved that. The opening was great! And the animation is simple with very beautiful shots every now and then. Also, as a trans person I did really enjoy Shun's character. I liked how the other boys weren't treating him unkindly for being so... See full review

Suzume

May 24, 2023

I'll start by admiting this film was very questionable at times, but follow it up by saying that I loved this film and enjoyed it very much. Looking at abandoned places in real life always fills me with this sense of longing for the liveliness and the history that used to be there and grief for the things that are left without filling their purpose after all the hard work put into creating them. And this film embodied this feeling so well, it made me feel like the creators of the film truly get how I feel and even feel the same way. Though it wasn't portrayed in a sad way, but more in a hopeful and... See full review

ID:INVADED

May 13, 2023

Wow, this was actually great! I enjoyed it immensely and it kept me on the edge of my seat.  The opening and ending themes were kinda meh, but the music throughout the show was very much in good taste and enriched the show. The plot was brilliant, I was at first disappointed at how obvious the identity of the bad guy is, but later came to realise that it wasn't the point of show and it didn't look like the creators were really trying to hard to keep it a secret in the first place. The mysety and thrill aspects were strong all throughout, and knowing who the bad guy was before the characters found... See full review

Gugure! Kokkuri-san

Apr 22, 2023

Dropped it after 2 episodes, it might be funny but I can't take all the pedophilia, makes me feel sick watching it. I don't get why no one bats an eye at all the sex jokes and plain sexual intentions that are directed at an elementary school kid, and the fact that her non-chibi form looks like a sexualised teenager instead of the little kid that she is? Absolutely gross.

Hikari: Be My Light

Feb 14, 2023

I... What?? I get that it's trying to be tragic but I hate it when the writers just keep piling up shit on the MC needlessly as if any one of those things weren't enough already to be eligible to be called tragedy. I mean, the [spoiler:] car accident? [End spoiler] At that point I felt like "fuck it, really? Isn't it sad enough already?"... I felt like they tried to over complicate stuff when any one of the tragic occurrences could be a good main theme to focus on, and still be dramatic and sad enough to move the audience. It ended up feeling like the creator tried too hard to make the viewers... See full review

Yarichin Bitch-bu

Jan 6, 2023

What the actual f did I just watch?? 🤦 Listen, I'm no newbie when it comes to yaoi but watching this was quite a disturbing experience... I'm for real convinced at least some of the parties involved in creating this atrocity were high on drugs. It was colorful and amusing, gotta give it to them. But whenever I tried to enjoy these qualities Yuri would come on screen, spouting nonsense and screaming to himself like one of those crazy weirdos you sometimes meet in dark public transport stations and run away for your life while feeling sick and creeped out. Idk, I get that some people think he's hot... See full review

Kamisama Kiss

Jan 1, 2023

I watched it for the first time when it first came out. I was 13 and I loved it.  Now, deciding to rewatch it 10 years later, I was worried it's gonna be too silly and childish for me to appreciate as an adult. But apparently, not at all! It was lovely now just as it was back then. It's lightheaded and fun, sweet and emotional. It aged well, and passes the 2023 vibe check with flying colors. What I loved the most about it, is how there isn't really any bad guys in this show. It might be shown simplistically, through a typical optimistic and naive shojo protagonist, but at the base of it I feel like... See full review

Sasaki and Miyano

Mar 13, 2022

Sorta contains spoilers. Usually I'm really not into how rapey BL and yaoi tend to get, but this series is advancing so incredibly slow that while watching it my partner and I joke about how at this point noncon is welcome to FINALLY get the plot moving. This series is so boring to watch. Cute and sweet, but boring. Sasaki is a sweetheart 10/10, Miyano is an total idiot and gets old pretty fast 0/10. Like, how long does it take for a fudanshi to realize he's not straight? Forever, apparently. Edit: I'm serious, I didn't like the series. Me not liking your fav series is not as big of a deal as you might... See full review
