Ok! I'll have to go with Natsume Yuujinchou in that case. It's a super bittersweet anime, with some amazing characters and great development. It's basically episodic, although there are a few overreaching storylines, but it just follows a guy who can see youkai and how it effects his life. It's really nice watching the two main characters develop as well, because it feels so natural. Honestly, I can't recommend it enough!!
