I'll be brief here. Is the story good? No it isn't. Are the characters good? No they are not. Is it just dumb fun? Hell yes!! I had already read the manga before watching, I knew about the retcons and plot holes before hand. I guess I had my expectations set already, I just wanted to have fun seeing Bleach back and it absolutely delivered. Kubo is also working with the team and he's already expanded on stuff that was in the manga, so that's a plus. If it's one thing this show does well, is that it is so good at creating these hype moments along with the incredible animation and music, the production... See full review
I feel as though I'm in the minority here as I didn't enjoy this series as much as others, to this day I dont understand why this anime has such an overwhelmingly positive reception, the vast majority of reviews giving this a 10. I dont know maybe its just me. But allow me to speak for the minority here. Hunter x Hunter (hxh) follows the story of Gon as he tries to find his father by becoming a hunter in order to look for him. Hunters are these sort of people who 'hunt', that's the best way to put it, they hunt many things such a treasures, new lands, crime, doing odd jobs, that kind of... See full review
I hate this movie, but at the same time I can't deny its a good movie. Strange isn't it? But allow me to explain. This movie completely betrays its source material, it basically took everything that made the manga so good and simplifed it, heck they even shuffled around several events that happened in the manga to sort of create this new storyline that revolves around the electro-fishers and not killy, and he's the main character! But at the same time this movie does have some superb production and the story itself isn't that bad (unless if you compare it to the story in the manga, in that case this story... See full review
Thank god this was only 10 episodes, if I had to watch another episode of this filth I swear I would've lost my mind. Half assed romance comedys like this show up all the time, they sort of attempt at being all cute and moe and it come of as fucking cringe. So what's this cesspool about? Well a guy confesses to a girl and she accepts, she then proceeds to give the relationship her all as she is "inexperienced". I fucking kid you not and I tried to make it sound good there. This show promplty proceeds to bombard you with a plethora of stupid and cringe sex jokes. The writing in this trash... See full review
What the hell was studio MADHOUSE was thinking? No seriously, can you imagine the executives at madhouse sitting at their table and be like "yeah, I like this, this seems good". You know what sucks the most? Is that this is madhouse, this is high budget wasted on this garbage story. It's popularity did sky rocket though, that's probably to do with its really good visuals. So shortage for resources, world war 3, world discovers magic, blah blah blah, you get the drill, you've seen and heard this premise many times over it aint anything special. So magic can only be passed down through... See full review
An underrated gem Daughter of 20 faces is a collaboration project between studio Bones and Telecom Animation and it tells the story of Chiko who sort of gets adopted into this gang of thieves, of course that's just the premise but it gets much deeper as the show progresses as we get more and more insight into just who the 20 faces is. The setting I assume is in an alternate timeline after the events of World War 2 and quite a lot of it is focused on 20 faces' involvement in the war, I can't say much other than that without spoiling it and trust me you're in for quite a lot of suprises. Chiko of course... See full review
This covers all four seasons I really wanted to like this, its got some intresting lore behind it such as our world and this "magical" world and how artifacts such as guns, jets, planes and so forth come over from earth into this world. Unfortunately none of that was actually explored. Actually this show seems to completely disregard its story for some brainless humor and really really forced and terrible romance. The biggest problem here is that there isn't any real plot, it's way too predictable villans get killed off way too fast and even worse yet this show refuses to explore its own lore... Its pretty obvious from the description what you're getting into and to be fair I was fine with that, I don't mind a bit of ecchi and fanservice now and then, so I was just looking to kick back and relax and enjoy some mindless humor and ecchi. But I made the mistake of watching this fucking show Let's cut to the chase here, a guy(your standard harem protagonist, he's got nothing special or new about him and he has that famous cliche design) gets forced by his friends to ask a girl out, and she appears curious and then agrees and the show progresses from there he gets his harem and blah blah blah, you... Based on 8 episodes Just by reading the description of this show you should be aware of what you are getting into, its a show not ment to be taken seriously it only exists so you can have a good laugh. The entire strength of this show comes from its comedy and that's my problem here, the comedy is mostly a hit or miss. Each episode is divided into several gags, now I laughed my ass of at the first 2 episodes but after that a lot of the jokes felt a bit repetitive with only a few new and good jokes coming along once in a while, as the episodes increased my boredom also increased. Yoshiko's stupidity was... See full review
A highschool comedy that's actually funny This is actually a rare thing, to have a highschool comedy and for it to actually be funny for its 12 episodes, that's pretty amazing. From the beginning Usami has a thing for Subaru, now this romance doesn't go anywhere, in fact the anime sticks to comedy, I know some people were a bit disappointed as they did not end up together. But I would rather have this, the comedy is quite entertaining enough there's no need for teen drama romance. Each episode is divided up into 2-3 parts each with it's own mini story and of course it involves members from the art club... See full review
China showing how its done!! Story and Characters Pro player forced to retire, he starts a new account and goes on raids with new people he meets while running into pros as well, that's about it for the story, it doesn't do much other than that. The premise is a bit intresting it just doesn't do much with it, you get the feeling that he is building a new team so he can go back to the pro league, and of course dealing with the occasional scumbag that gets in his way. The show itself intends not being focused on the story as what it does is mostly sets up fight scenes ,which works in its favour... See full review
People often say "Berserk has an amazing story (which I agree) how can bad animation ruin it?". And to those people I have this response " Have you read the manga? You do realise that the most emotional, most important, most impactful, most horrifying moments comes from those full spread pages with no words" Berserk's artwork complements its fantastic story. There's a sense of grandeur in Berserk's art, it makes its world/ characters seem fully realised all of which seem completely absent from this adaptation. You know what the worst part is? It's that seemingly all the problems that... See full review
Shows like this usually pop up all the time, most of them pretty generic and boring this is no exception. Story and Characters It starts out simple enough, a cupid doesn't understand love so she randomly goes around making couples one thing leads to another and Seiji gets his harem with Akane, Yuzu and Guri and the series progresses from there. The romance is pretty half assed, everything just happens for the sake of happening, you don't really feel invested cause not much motive is given, only Akane has a sort of solid reason (but its not enough) and Yuzu and Guri slowly grow to like him, but it really... Story and Characters So in the distant future, earth has been ravaged by pollution and a society called ECOBAN was built to harvest the pollution eventually the started to beleive themselves superiror than the Marr(the outsiders) and they rise up to take down ECOBAN blah blah blah, its your typical post-apocalyptic story. I've always wondered something, if they are using pollution, why is the earth still a shithole? Can't they just use solar energy? It was mentioned. Why go through the trouble of making more pollution when clearly there is an alternative? The story and characters are very weak for a few... See full review
May contain spoilers Story and Characters Let's see here a salaryman atheist gets reincarnated by "god" or "Being X" as he calls it as a girl with all his memories in an alternate world with magic where he must fight a war for the empire in order for him to start beleiving in God...........yeah it's weird and crazy and I really love it. But that is what's on the surface, what lies beneath is much deeper. You see good and evil kind of has no meaning here, Tanya is a person of rational thought and very well understands human nature, in fact in her previous life, she didn't understand... See full review
Based on 6 epiodes So I did a background check on this, apparantly both Oreimo and Eromanga Sensei were created by the same guy, Tsukasa Fushimi and both shows pretty much have the same theme (incest and otaku culture) heck even the main character from this show looks similar to the one from Oreimo he just has a different hair colour. Oh right and the siblings are not blood related in this one and Sagiri is tolerable unlike Kirino (who was annoying as hell). Story and Characters I know this is supposed to be a slice of life and its supposed to be slow paced, but dear god is this thing slow, the worst... See full review
What a fucking terrible show. Story Written by Erika Yoshida, who is practically a nobody who wrote 3 really bad manga an this I think is the first anime he's written and directed by Masahiro Mukai whose only experience was directing a few episodes or some anime and 1 or 2 movies and OVA's. You see what I'm getting t here? It seems that this show was driven by an inexperienced staff. Here's the problem: This show moves at a ridiculously slow pace, so much filler dialogue Mystery? What mystery? It has none Characters have no motive for their actions Everything gets resolved way to fast, there's no... See full review
Historical fiction mixed with supernatural elements is nice, but this show seems to have no idea what it wants to do, here are my complaints: It keeps jumping from events, theres a war going on and it keeps jumping all over the place. A lot of historical characters are brought up, but their screen time is so little you don't care Fucking terrible pacing theres no sense of urgency even through there's a war and the so called 'the head of the conquerer' has to be sealed, no one seems to give a shit one dimensional characters, when they die, who cares, you cant connect with them at the end of the show... Bleach has Plot holes shallow characters they all have about one personality and they hardly ever change deus ex machina nonsense fillers bad pacing some really annoying characters a good story that starts to get boring later on main character ichigo starts off great but starts to lose his character traits further on there's no real character progression a lot of ideas are recycled So then why did I give it such a high score? Well, despite how ridiculous bleach can be, to me it was always entertaining, unlike other shounen all it cared about was cool music and fight scenes, and it damn well... See full review
Pros This anime has a large cast of colourful and intresting characters, I didnt find anyone of them to be boring or irritating. Really, really beautiful backgrounds. Great music and voice acting. Great comedy (I was laughing so hard at certain things in this anime). Cons Nothing much happens in each episode. Some episodes are quite boring. Some characters faces look really bad. What you have here is and episodic comdey that follows the daily lives of Poco and Souta. Nothing really happens much in trems of the story, there is no deep meaning to anything, its pretty shallow. But where this... See full review
Pros The artwork is really good especially backgrounds. Cool fight scenes Great music especially the songs Demons are actually pretty firece Lots of gore It has a really heavy and dark atmosphere feeling to it Cons Story is very basic (although is it relatively good) Everything gets resolved too quickly Some characters are a bit forced ( the romance was kinda forced in) This does have a very basic story, dont expect much in the way of plot, there are also a few questions that you may have after this (not everything is explained well). The characters themselves are good, the main character was... See full review
Another great idea gone wrong. Pros Absoutely beautiful music Pretty well done action scenes, its quite flashy Fairly intresting character and background design Cons Stupid humor, not funny at all Most of the series is wasted seearching for the jewels and nothing much goes on with the plot. The pacing is terrible Absoutely dull characters: you got the silent "badass" female, the innocent female, the one that yells "HENTAI" at the lead male and you have a noisy and annoying lead male. The plot is too predictable from episode 3 you can easily tell where its going. The script is... See full review
Just dont take this seriously, its really ment as a joke. This thing is so ridiculous, its good. In a nutshell the story goes like this, aliens from another dimension have invaded and humanity has developed a new weapon system to combat them called the heart hybrid, here comes the funny part, the only way to recharge it is by doing lewd things with the protagonist. What follows is a series of ridiculous and funny moments. I'm serious, this thing is so stupid its good, its typically what you expect from a ecchi/pervert anime, but its just how sheer ridiculously its presented makes it... See full review
Really, really good idea but poorly executed. Gilgamesh has a really good concept behind it and an ending that will suprise many and leave you with something to think about. The problem is that the pacing is so bad, there are some epsiodes that just seem to drag on for an eternity with no real progress in the story what so ever adn then they attempt to make you bond with the characters but its just so badly done they just come off as forgettable. Animation leaves a lot to be desired, in face most characters seem static and lifeless and the art style isnt that good to begin with, just a handfull of... See full review
This review covers both season 1 and 2 of this anime. Story Snow white with the red hair follows a pretty basic and predictable storyline. It is a slow paced love story which is good because even though it does have a "love at first sight" theme it does take a while for the main characters to show their true feelings towards one another, its done pretty well, the romance doesnt feel forced in any way. The issue is that there is no high point or anytime you feel like the main characters are in danger even though the girl (shirayuki) gets kidnapped multiple times and its painfully predictable on... Brief Summary This is a love story about some girl called Chizuru who like this boy called Kota but here is the the plot twist, Chizuru is a fox spirit. And here is another plot twist there are more of those girls who wants to to get Kota for themselves, oh wow, and here we have a fanservice kingdom of every fox spirit girl trying to get this boy........and in the end Kota admits his love to Chizuru. Story Anything adapted from light novels is pure bullshit, this is no exception. This has got to be one of the worst pieces of shit I have ever seen in my life... See full review
Very good start, throughout the series the main theme focused is friendship, which is nice but it becomes repetitive and boring. Story As I said before it starts off really good, but after the first 3 episodes or so I lost all interest because: Most of the series focuses on friendship and the friendship between Kagura and Yomi is forced and it takes up too much of the screen time, it honestly feels like fillers. Only 2 characters are potrayed alone, so when they killed off most of the others, I really didnt care because I didnt get a sense of what their purpose was in the anime. The... See full review
This was a pretty good movie considering it came out back in 1983, even by today's standards it still it pleasing to watch. Story Problem with Golgo 13 as always is its very basic story, just a moderate string of events that lead up to the final battle scene, it does have some nice mystery benind it, like it does take you a while to figure out who the main villan is, but, once you do, its just a race to to the end. It is however, kind of well presented the animation styles used made you feel like you were watching something very sophisticated (although it really wasn't). The huge problem... See full review
Well, this was stupid, I liked the first Tekkaman but this was a mess. Story Well 10 years have passed since Blade saved the world and the invaders are back, however this time mankind has adapted the technology to create their own Tekkaman even more powerful than the alien's one. The entire point of this OVA, fight the aliens, thats it, there is no deep plotline like the first, the story is inconsistent, a lot of unexplained things such as, how did Blade recover his memory? or how did he get back his power? And several more questions like that, its more like things just happen and we as the... See full review
Golgo 13 revolves around and assassin called Duke Togo with GODLIKE precision who accepts jobs from clients and in some cases has to escape from a lot of enemies, cops etc. It dosen't get much deeper than that and its an episodic anime so don't develop a bond to each of the secondary characters because they only make one appearence. Story Considering the manga came out way back in 1968, yes the story is very basic and predictable, what I did like a lot was the manner in which it was presented, the entire episode progressed perfectly and in a lot of cases a huge amount of suspense was...
