This anime was hard to watch the first several episodes.  The characters were very flat and there is a lot of violence and fan service for hardly any reason.

Im fine with nudity in anime, but it gets a little too over the top when every episode has fights exposing breasts.

Another issue I have with many anime is people ignoring they like each other and not professing it until the end of the anime.  See Dr Stone as an example, I like it, but there is a character who waited 3700 years to profess his love for a woman and still doesn't.  For restarting civilization, there sure isn't much of a focus on people having relationships (so far).  But, this is about Freezing.

This anime tiptoes too long around the two main characters liking each other.

What made it enjoyable was the entry of the character Rana.  She was a breath of fresh air and honestly, I preferred her to most of the other females.

Speaking of the cast, nearly 99% are all out to get the Sat (my nickname for the heroine).  It gets a little old when they're all after her, to some degree the internal politics of the school could be interesting, but the first two thirds of the season relies upon this to drive everything.  It's pretty old. pretty fast.

About two thirds or more into the season, the big threat shows up and for a Sci Fi anime, the show starts to hit its stride.

Completely watchable show, but forgettable.  I couldn't tell you who 95% of the cast is, but they didn't aggravate me at least.

Oh, and the male protagonist I don't hate but he is the epitome of forgettable beta male in an anime.

I had enough fun watching it that I will attempt season 2.  If it picks up off a better story beat and runs with it, there could be some promise.  If it turns into a bunch of school status bickering, not so sure I could make it through.
