I went into this with pretty low expectations. The first episode exceeded those, made me chuckle a few times, and generally seemed like it had some promise to be something a bit more interesting. This false hope is what makes this anime so frustratingly bad. If the first episode were as terrible as the last one, I'd have dropped it after episode 1 and not wasted my time. Instead the show strings you along on the hope that it might transcend its trashier elements even as the warning signs pile up, before completely shitting the bed toward the end.
