Welcome to my profile! Please forgive me, but I'm really bad at writing and not really sure what to say.
I have always loved anime but I don't force myself to watch it just to keep up with the times. The reason I have so many highly rated series is because I watch a show when it feels like it's time. Watching something when I'm not really feeling it is bound to make it a little unappealing and I don't want to ruin the artist's hard work by viewing half-heartedly, so I save it for another day. Some of my higher rated stuff, though, was watched when I was younger and if I remotely enjoyed something I would be like, "Wow! This is definitely perfect! 5 STARS!" I need to revisit some older ones and update my ratings...
I also go through phases where I don't want to watch anything of it at all, so I switch to movies or K-Dramas for a while so I don't get burnt out.
Because I have loved so many of the series I've watched, it's become very hard to pick a favorite. A series that I really like that isn't necessarily unpopular but I never personally hear people talking about is "Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun". This series is funny and charming, and one of my personal favorites! I can't wait for the anime to continue!
Lately I've fallen into looking for series that are romantic but melancholy and two perfect anime showed up for me. "The Ancient Magus' Bride" and "Violet Evergarden" are exactly the sort of thing I've been searching for, and now here they are. I wish I paid more attention to manga so I could've noticed them sooner! Both are beautiful and I really love them. The first opening for The Ancient Magus' Bride really sets the mood for the show and fits it perfectly; that's a big part of the experience for me.
