See You in My 19th Life

Oct 25, 2021

I love this story so much. The struggles the characters experience feel so real and the story is moving forward at a decent, continuous pace while still revealing many surprises along the way. The romance is really sweet. I'm not a fan of the misunderstandings trope, but even though it is used here from time to time the characters tend to talk it out like normal adult people which I'm a huge simp for.

Accomplishments of the Duke’s Daughter

Oct 16, 2021

I don't know if it's a good manga, because I was so distracted by it being chock-full of glorification of capitalism. A girl comes from modern Japan into a medieval-like world and her first thought is to "make it more civilised." Sounds like a coloniser's mindset to me! She introduces banking and standardised education and so on, which I don't find problematic in itself, but firstly, the manga never talks about the downsides of those systems and secondly, she makes it all mandatory and the manga depicts everyone as being super grateful and her as saving them... I'll Save This Damned Family!

Sep 18, 2021

I had to check several times if this story was really originally a Korean story, because the themes somehow didn't fit with what I'd expect from those. There's a lot of deducing what other people think and what's really going on, it reminds me a little bit of Sherlock Holmes.  There's scheming without evil villain schemers (well, mostly),  there's training where the FL gets stronger/loses weight, without it being a training montage from zero to hero, the FL has both strong and weak sides, meaning she's neither OP nor a Mary Sue nor a weak-ass wallflower without resolve. She has a goal... See full review

Fiancée of the Wizard

Sep 6, 2021

This story is very cliched, but there's nothing wrong with that. FL is a bit boring and weak, but somehow her internal struggles were still interesting enough. It's obviously a short story, so the pacing is very fast. I would've liked a bit more depth and for the FL to be more skilled, but other than that it's a perfect cliched stereotypical romance manga. Sometimes I want exactly that and nothing fancy, and for that this manga is perfectly well suited.
