Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation

Jan 19, 2024

One of the greatest animes of all time. I can't quite thoroughly explain how much of an emotional rollercoaster I went through with this show. I genuinely feel like i just watched this child grow up before my very eyes. I got emotionally attached to the characters, wanting them to all stay together and form some kind of party, or to do something that kicks off an end goal, or to resolve a clear, overarching conflict. but it never happens. And it's beautiful for it. The animation, as well, is beautiful. Fight scenes are smooth, and the characters look amazing. An animation that sticks out to me... See full review

Food Wars! Shokugeki no Souma

Jul 18, 2023

See, this is what anime should be all about.  But first, (let me take a selfie) let’s discuss Gordon Ramsay. What made him so popular? Well, not only his shows, but also the fact he’s a world-class chef with a deep personality. His shows provide entertainment for the viewer to see him absolutely shit on people who deserve it, but also show love for those who needed it. The way he did it was impeccable. Just him barking an order through the TV could cause some people at home to respond, “Yes Chef!”  Food Wars has the same impact. The show is filled with uppity d-bags... See full review

I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too

Jul 1, 2023

Absolute dog shite of a show. I made it 2 episodes before the cringe won. It truly is some power fantasy that some fat nerd in Japan has. I just HAVE to rip on the story and it’s fallacies. A guy is treated terribly because he is fat and ugly, his entire life. But, his grandpa was nice to him, and left MC his house. The house had a secret room which led to a game world. The house was only accessible by the owner, meaning only he can get in and out of it.  Later, he rescues a girl from being harassed by dudes, via meekly saying she might not like what they're doing to her. They then beat the piss... See full review

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

May 3, 2023

First off: My review is biased, as I can barely watch this show. I have photosensitive epilepsy, but I took meds before each episode just to make it through to see what the hype is about. This show goes HARD on the flashing lights. It’s even possible I had a seizure watching this and that’s why the plot makes no sense to me. And finally, it’s been a few months since I’ve seen it. I genuinely do not understand why this show is so loved by everybody. It’s even enjoyed by people who are new to anime. This show is a tragic mess that I can barely even begin to think of where to... KonoSuba – God's blessing on this wonderful world!

Apr 30, 2023

It was perfect. Perfect. Down to the last, minute detail. I regret putting this off as long as I did. The dub is far funnier, imo. The voice actors do a great job, and compared to what I saw from the sub, they really did give it more comedic affect more suited for western audiences. Anyway, it's just a good comedy fantasy. It doesn't try to be some power fantasy, it doesn't try to be some harem fantasy, it's just a satire of the genre. It doesn't try ot be more than what you need it to be for it to be funny.

Redo of Healer

Apr 20, 2023

I’m writing this after letting it stew for a few months. I had to accept myself after watching this.  Let’s be frank - this is hentai. It doesn’t show peepee or hole, but it explicitly shows sex. It also shows torture, rape, drugs, abuse, mental break. It’s like watching a trainwreck. I can tell you the story, you will not lose anything by reading on because it’s such a sight to see. I will now paraphrase the story from my memory of it, after watching it like 3 months ago: In the story: kid lives in shithole village. Everyone in kingdom looks up to the people in... Date a Live III

Apr 5, 2023

I noticed that Date A Live II was copyrighted 2014, but Date A Live III is copyrighted 2019. If it was 5 years wait for fans, that's disappointing. Further, at the beginning, it seemed like it would be a let down compared to the wait. But, as the season went on, the more in-depth it went, to the point I ended up shedding a tear for Miss Origami, for she cannot escape her fate, despite the help of the MC and Kurumi. FOr that alone, it gets a better score from the previous season. I'm glad it didn't just go the typical route of continuously adding more women into the harem, and decided to add depth to some of... Date a Live II

Apr 5, 2023

Fun season. It adds a couple (lmao) more spirits. But, it does begin to make the viewer feel a bit bad for them, as suddenly there's a bunch of girls all wanting the same boy for themselves, and it's obvious Tohka is to be the "favorite" girl of the MC's. Interesting concepts, fun playing, but also pretty decent fight scenes. Cheap, typical anime gimicks such as showing circles pulsating to represent a firefight, a crash offscreen and then showing the aftermath of the crash as opposed to animating the crash, etc. But, still enjoyable. Character progression seems a little forced towards the end of... See full review

Date a Live

Mar 30, 2023

Well, a stranger is just a friend you ain't met yet. Really strange backstory here, but it doesn't get much deeper than how the show introduces this concept. A strange phenomenon called a spacequake happened 30 years ago between Mongolia and China, killing 150M. Since then,, these space quakes have been happening at irregular intervals. What the public doesn't know, is it allows a "spirit" to spawn. A space quake is like when the terminator jumps back from time and destroys the area around where he spawns, except at a much larger scale. Even same idea with putting the spirit in the epicenter... Bocchi the Rock!

Mar 28, 2023

I gotta tell ya. It was perfect. Perfect. Everything. Down to the last minute details.

The love that obviously went into this show is immesurable, and almost tangible. The beauty of the anime itself was worth the watch. It's so visually appealing, fun to watch, it will keep you hooked from one episode to the other. The story is so cute. I'm sure dear reader is aware, but it's about a socially awkward girl who has vapid dreams of being in a rock band, being rich and famous, and never having to interact with anyone ever again. Instead, she finds herself growing and slowly overcoming her social anxiety... See full review

Tomo-chan is a Girl!

Mar 27, 2023

It's easy to see why this anime is so popular. It's a lovely, easy to watch romcom with a gender role twist. It's just bringing back the good old tomboy, without forcing some trans ideology (which is expected by now in the west.) It's an innocent story with a happy ending. There are some supporting characters that I do enjoy, but feel that the story didn't go enough into their backgrounds. The characters span the basics: emotionless girl, Misuzu, ditzy blonde European Carole (The VA plays both the Japanese and English parts, which is honestly cool!) and the romaintic interest male, Jun. I do not like how we... See full review

To Love Ru

Jan 16, 2023

-Writing after a year since I watched-
I'm mostly writing to offset the negative reviews. I don't care what others on this site say. To Love Ru is a great ecchi, it's a great anime if you like ecchi. I remember it fondly. Though I cannot tell you what the actual story was very accurately, I can tell you that it was about Rito Yuuki taking the luckiest bath in the world and getting engaged accidentally to the cutest pink-haired anime girl of all time. She loves making inventions, often causing lewd events to occur. There's no explicit sex. It's absolutely worth a watch if you enjoy fun, light-hearted... See full review

Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World

Jan 16, 2023

It started off really promising. It had an interesting plot, beautiful, smooth animation that is very pleasing to look at. It showed the struggle of the MC's character being isekai'd into a brand new world, and great character development from it. We got to see his determination to purchase roxanne. Then the story sort of plateaus in terms of interest, and more focuses on covering unecessary details of the world itself. But then we see the two get a house, become really close. By the last 2 episodes, he gets a third partner, which we dont actually see fight, but we do get to know why he wanted another... See full review

Peter Grill and the Philosopher's Time

Jan 8, 2023

You know what? I liked it. Cute characters, solid storyline. It's a shame it's not a hentai, because it would have been the greatest of all time, hands down. It has really short episodes at only 12 minutes per episode and 12 episodes per season, so it's easy to watch the whole thing quickly.  Yes, it's a story about a guy who gets repeatedly raped by women who want his nut, because he is the strongest man in the world. Yes, it's a little fucked up in that sense. It has a good mix of comedy and horny.  Flaws: some of the animation is a bit wrong, like forgetting to animate lips moving for talking... See full review

Immoral Guild

Jan 6, 2023

Honestly, its a cute, enjoyable Border-H anime. The show actually does have a decent plot, and the characters are diverse, unique, and endearing in their own ways. The main protagonist of this ecchi-harem actually questions how these girls end up in such lewd positions. The show actually does explain why the monsters attack in such ways. The fight scenes are very well done, even better than popular fighting anime like Naruto, which simply shows jagged lines for movement. This show shows full movements, along with intricate choreography, for an ecchi anime. There are at least 3 scenes of border H per... See full review

Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro

Jan 4, 2023

This is one of the greatest romcom anime of all time. I love the concept and execution of the plot and story drivers. Development of characters through time is wonderful. People who don't like it simply don't like romcom. I enjoy the cutsieness of this anime. No, it's not chainsaw man when it comes to animation. It doesn't have a plot that goes super deep, with lots of lore, no. It's simple, easy to watch, and easy to get attached to these characters and to love how they're developing. I even went out and bought the manga because I wanted to see what would happen next.

Love Flops

Jan 4, 2023

I went into this anime thinking it would be a normal, harem-ecchi. But the story gets deep, it really pulls the rug out from under the viewer. I won't spoil the plot. But, this anime has beautiful animations, a heart-wrenching ending, and minimal fan service (which is a downside for me. I enjoy fan service). It's absolutely worth a watch, and I hope it gets a second season. I don't know how they'll explain the very end, but I hope it all comes together, and that the second season brings in more light-hearted mishaps between all the characters.

My First Girlfriend is a Gal

Aug 23, 2022

This is one of those anime's that are difficult for western viewers to understand the emotions and actions of the characters in the show. There's no real explanation as to why the female protagonist actually said yes to the male protagonist's offer to date. It's difficult to understand why his friends made him meet her to ask her out in the first place. It's difficult to understand why these people not only haven't murdered, but are friends with someone who constantly talks about how he's sexually attracted to girls aged 4-7 years old. It's difficult how -spoiler- the male and female protagonists come to... See full review

Ghost Stories

May 6, 2022

(spoiler free) One of the funniest shows I have ever seen, minus legitimate stand-up comedy routines. It's not for people who weren't alive in the 90's-2000's, though, because it includes a lot of obscure refrences to what was at the time relevant news. That aside, it did actually do a good job of pulling a story together there at the end, and was absolutely worth watching.

My Dress-Up Darling

May 6, 2022

(spoiler free) Anyone who doesn't like this show isn't being truthful with their emotions. It's important to remember that native English speakers aren't the main target of shows like these; cultures are different between here and glorious Nippon. This show tugged at my emotions, especially at the end. The characters have a wonderful way of showing development towards each other. I would have liked to see more interactions with some of Kitagawa's friends, though. The animation style is unique, and sets it apart from other anime, but in a good way, in my opinion. This anime is easy on the eyes, and when you... See full review

Kiss x Sis

Jan 3, 2022

it's an old ecchi, borderline H anime. It puts characters into some erotic situations, and has explicit sexual scenes without actually showing any body parts. Visuals are boring, but probably average for the time it was made. The characters have nothing more than they all want to have the seggs with the main protagonist. The main girls who want the protagonists D are two lolis who aren't blood related to him, but are still his sisters. There's also a school teacher who has big boobas, a first year with big boobas (who I think doesn't actually want the protagonists D, she's just there for diversity of boob... See full review

Naruto

Jan 2, 2022

Naruto, this being the original series, is one of the greatest and most popular anime of all time for a reason. Personally, I have literally grown up with the story of Naruto. A massive expanse of highly diverse (not ethnically) characters, each with extremely interesting backstories that always pull you in for more. By the end of Shonen jump, you strive for more. and shippuden gives you more. Shippuden is far superior to Shonen jump, but, this is necessary to watch first. It's always frustrating, as a western viewer, watching a stubborn and idiotic child refuse to simply do the studying, or blatantly... See full review

Trinity Seven

Jan 2, 2022

I found this anime to have a wonderful mix of story, progression, good visuals, comedy, fighting, and not too much ecchi scenes. zit was well combined, and absolutely worth watching. The story, as someone who is new to anime, seemed a little fuzzy in the beginning, and I still don't really understand it, but it does come out and provide clear conflict and establishes main protagonists and enemies, and provides enough character development, for a one season anime. The logic of the universe was fuzzy, but other than that, good theme. There are NO nipples shown, always being covered by hair, steam, or bits of... See full review
