I started watching anime heavily around 2007 to occupy my down time while rehabbing from a double knee surgery. While I was always somewhat fascinated with Japanese culture that was when I became an otaku. I have since used anime to help me learn Japanese and have spent some time living in Japan.
Regarding my stats, I have started to list all unwatched sequels (second seasons, supplementary OVAs, TV/DVD specials, etc.) as stalled.
