this was really unenjoyable to watch, like stubbing your toe kind first thing in the morning kind of fun. i liked the first season and movie, but S2 just wasnt good. The first half was okay but the last half with the incessant screaming and hard stop of the main story progression left the golden city feel like an obnoxious side stop. if you arent sure i would still give it the 3/4 episode test but if you get tired of the glass breaking screams and children(just that they are kids)then just drop it,. otherwise id strongly advise not to watch. if still curious here is a spoiler free more detailed review.

so for animations its alwasy been good, so thats a plus. the cgi is still hunks of clay just painted a bit nicer. also sea horses land sharks is all i could not unsee for the animals

the sound, is probably decent but if i had a drinking game for every time i heard faputa or the MC banshee scream i'd have cirrhosis by the time the season was over. 

now the characters are a mixed bag, the original cast was fairly usless and reg was given a mcguffin power up that has the "is magic anime stuff so it just works". now the new characters are intersting but they never explore them, except for 2 of them faputa and vuelo. vuelo is a nice complex character but is relugated to the flashbacks and exposition dumps near the end. now faputa holy shit put that thing and throw it in the river. i could care less about that fox loli back story especially after the 6th episode she became so fucking annoying and the "sosu" word added after each damn phrase had me muting the tv every time she talked. i dont care that, that type of speach impediment is a japanese form of speech, its a fantasy world in a hole not japan. but we saved the best charcter for last the pink chimp brained beanie baby Maa

look at it, not a thought in the world goes on in that thing

so that leads me into the story, or the lack therof. remember the objective of the Made in the Abyss is to find her mother, well here we are stuck for the entire season in this dump, and the only thing that kept them staying was resolved within the 2nd or 3rd episode. so why did they stay? BEATS ME. we go through this whole side quest just to unlock a new character for the roster. it felt very unrewarding, also the more i watch the more im just thinking  is damn these kids just kind of suck, becasue you know kids when we all were that young just kind of sucked. which makes all of the repeated tropes and cliches even less enjoyable. and it made all of the grotesque shit that happen feel more and more like an edgey contrasts to the abnormal happiness of the cast. so more of a "hey lets keep you intersted" instead of consqeuence for delving deeper in the abyss which again the show seems to have forgot for the girl.

that is all, i wont watch this show anymore, if you see dark smoke then theres a fire closeby and im not willing to waste my time hopping in the fire
