Josee, the Tiger and the Fish

Feb 20, 2023

As someone who was wheel bound for 2 months after my accident back in 2019, this movie really hit close to home. If you want a good romance anime that highlights personal growth and complex dynamics between characters, then this is a good choice. I see that multiple people are complaining about the main love interest, Josee being abusive, selfish, and disconnected from reality. This is a shallow understanding of a girl who was babied by her grandmother-- her only caretaker and was only allowed outside during nighttime for "safety." This movie shows the reality of what happens when people make... See full review

Bibliophile Princess

Dec 30, 2022

I want to preface this by saying that I read the first few chapters of the manga before the anime was announced, so I knew more about the story going into it than those who didn't. So, when this started airing, I adored this anime. For this season, I would have ranked it in the top compared to all of the other titles that I decided to pick up and watch. It kept my attention and the introduction of the characters was well-done and sweet, but that seems to be where it lost me... The first issue I had was that Elianna had a hollow personality with only one defining trait she's a bookworm and only... See full review

Nights with a Cat

Sep 24, 2022

This was one of the few short titles for this season and I figured that I would watch it for the extra title for this season's challenge.

It was okay. It's a short show between a new cat owner and the cute things cats do. The common issue I have with short stories is that it's difficult to really enjoy. The sound and situation had some cute funny moments-- many that I can relate to as a cat owner. It just isn't worthwhile to watch again if I was given the option to. If you're looking for a cute show, then this isn't bad. Just know that it's not the best, but I know that that's ok for a lot of... See full review

Vampire in the Garden

May 24, 2022

Fully watched the series & giving my thoughts. Spoilers might be present, but I'll be severely limiting the characters & the story❗️

Looking at the other reviews, might be a little different based on preference-- not to be edgy, but to maybe highlight some important things in the anime that maybe went unnoticed. I'll be explaining my rankings based on the rating I gave (Sound > Animation > Story > Characters). Sound For the sound, I find it flawless. The gunshots to the falling snow to the screams to the music itself. It felt full of life... See full review

Bubble

May 4, 2022

This is one of my most anticipated movies of this year-- and I was disappointed by what I watched just now. Now, don't get me wrong. The art and colors and concept is dynamic and captivating, but that feels like all it really is. The story is jam-packed into less than 2 hours and that gave me no time to really attach to a single character nor did it give me time to even really understand the plot. It's the generic "Little Mermaid" story with a twist so I expected the music to be stunning and I was disappointed that all I got from that was the 4 note hum that constantly played throughout the movie... Sorairo Utility (2021)

Feb 15, 2022

I'm being kind as I see no one else has left a review This short episode was pretty short and sweet. I didn't hate it at all but found it worth my time to watch at the end. The story isn't much of a story, but more of an experience that people go through when learning how to first play a sport-- golf for this instance. You struggle a lot. You can try as hard as possible, but unfortunately, see your ball go backward rather than forwards. You can put your everything in it, but watch others around you do better because they're either naturally gifted or have experience. It's difficult. As a story-- I... See full review

Psychic Princess

Dec 22, 2021

This is just another rehashed version of the story The Taming of the Shrew as an animated series. The main character is incredibly independent and headstrong as a female lead, but is pushed and shoved into the conventional role as the woman of the household. There are many things I find endearing regarding this animated adaptation (e.g., the introduction, cute designs, and decent sound design). It has a lot going for it as both a story and as visual form of media. The issues I had with it stemmed from the cultural sexism we see in Asian culture. There seems to be a consistency in Asian media to take a... See full review

Alice in the Country of Hearts: Wonderful Wonder World

Jul 5, 2012

Heart no Kuni no Alice: Wonderful Wonder World...
This anime is so amazing to watch. I felt like there were many twists and turns for the story, but one thing that bothered me was, I never read the manga before, so I had absolutly no IDEA what was going on until it was 3/4ths done with the movie. I do have to say, the gun shots were exzilerating to her and they captivated me. I would recommend you, if you want to watch this anime/movie, read the manga first, because it would make more sence.
I hope this review helped you guys. I'm off to go read the manga, so after I do that, I'm gonna... See full review
