Not the worst thing I've seen but distantly far from the best. Art style is pretty bland but workable. I've already seen 100 other anime drawn just like this. It's not that it's bad, its just cookie cutter in that regard. The action scenes are well animated, so that's a plus. The characters in this are very clichéd and predictable. Standard emotionally blank girl, tortured artist and a tag along to keep them glued together. The character growth felt forced and sudden. We're talking about going from not understanding the concept of a house and why you shouldn't... See full review
Must see for Violet Evergarden fans. If you're reading this and haven't seen the anime, stop reading and go watch the anime. The movie will be ruined if you don't watch that first! Beautifully animated, polish galore and feels for days. It's exactly what you'd expect out of this series. As usual they use a mallot instead of a scalpel to convey various emotional scenes (which is also par for the course). This puts a nice bow on the whole series and because of that... there's no point in talking about its merit or the story any further because it is a requirement to see if you... See full review
Embrace the nonsensical story and relationships that is Tokyo Revengers. The super ultra major flaw of this anime is how unrelatable EVERYONE is. Their actions, relationships, thoughts and emotions generally don't make sense given the situation and characters. I kept laughing at scenes that we're clearly not meant be funny but that's part of its charm too. Be prepared for mountains of unearned attachment and loyalty. Truck loads of hyperboly in any action scene. There's also an unhealthy dose of cringe. With that being said, TR, isn't the worst at anything that matters. ... See full review
I'm confused why this title is on this website. In order for something to be an anime... it needs to be animated. :) It looks nice, voice acting is top shelf, short and sweet and its funny as hell. However, many of the jokes have a physical component to them that would of been enhanced by animation. Its a shame this didn't get a larger budget. If I wanted to read a manga... i would of bought the manga...
See full reviewNew Game!, good enough to finish the first season but unrelatable enough to ignore the second.
New Game does have it's moments
It does feature specializations in the field and presents some real world scenerios for people in crunch time.
Mentor/Senior relationship is definitly a thing but there was a lot of creative liberty taken there. They get a pass here cause it'd be boring otherwise.
Pride for one's work is sprinkled throughout.
I actually laughed a few times.
I seriously don't know who this anime is a for.
As a person who's worked in that field for over a decade... See full review

DID I MENTION SPOILERS???*
This is a review for Gurren Lagann: Firefighter Edition.
Here's some totally unique concepts that clearly wasn't borrowed from ANY ANIME MADE IN 2007... that's for sure...
- if you believe in yourself, you can overcome anything.
- the main character is a cocky blue haired, tall, handsome, inexperienced, charismatic, thick headed dude with a moral code. Also has a repetitive mantra that inspires and annoys his friends.

I don't even know how to rate this because technically it should be a 0 or 10 but not 1-9. It can only be the best or the worst as it would of been the only anime in 1907. So it would of been up to the viewer to reject japanese animation as a whole or be excited for the future. Of course.... this is 2020 and I have my answer.
I would recommend this to anyone who's curious about the beginnings of anime. It's only 5 seconds long and is quite easy to find.
If you've already seen the series and you're looking to get your fix without the scourge that is recap.
24:50 is where recap stops
Start at 23:00 to enjoy the final scene of the series again ;)
If you havn't already seen the anime... don't watch this movie, go back and watch the show AND THEN skip past the recap ;).
I hope the guy who thought ~25 minutes of recap has a toilet clog out of the blue. (Can't really wish anything too bad... crime wasn't that evil... 0_0)
This is your standard goblin slayer experience... explicit violence all around, not too much dialog from the main... See full review
Funny as hell, would watch again. If you're an engllish speaker, I do recommend watching this one dubbed. the dubbing is fantastic. It should be pretty apparent after the first episode weather you're going to like this anime. The story hardly exists and frankly doesn't matter. When it comes to the genre comedy, that's par for the course. This is super light hearted with zero heavy topics (except for dumbbells). The animation and drawing is surprisingly good. While a good chunk of this anime is just your standard cookie cutter crap, that's not true in it's... See full review
If you're planning on watching Tokyo Ghoul:Re then you really should watch both OVAs first. As truly absurd as Chie HORI (the photographer) is as a character, it explains an otherwise unbelievable scene in Re. The Gourmet gets mountains of love which I love. The sauce boss finally gets rounded out. Meh, I'm not publishing this... I'll just leave it for people who visit my profile.
See full reviewA must watch if you enjoyed both Blade Runners. It's on crunchy roll so there's really no barrier to watching this legally. I understand that this takes place before the second movie but I recommend watching it after seeing both movies. There's enough in the second movie to stand on it's own without the support of this short. Not to mention going from live action to anime then back to live action would be a bit jarring.
With that being said, for it being so short it definitly adds to the overall story and universe of Blade Runner. It also helps explain the tone against... See full review
Overall A.IC.O Incarnation wasn't terrible by any stretch of the imagination. I would recommend this to someone who has a Netflix account and also suffers from a medical condition called boredom. And only if you're kinda desperate for something to watch. I never once thought that this was low quality or poorly animated... but watching well drawn malignant tumors attacking people gets kinda boring. I thought the story was very strong and well plotted out (for the most part). If you pay attention, you can call just about every plot twist incarnation has to throw at ya. There's... See full review
This is one of the best animes I've seen. It has a lot of uniqueness that future anime will probably try to replicate. A word of warning though, "Made in Abyss" looks deceptively childish. IMO, there is a ton of messed up concepts contained in this anime that a 12-year-old shouldn't have bouncing around in their head. You might have watched the first few with your kids thinking, "it's a little on the edge but I think they can handle it". Watch episode 10 or just read the dialogue of episode 6/7... Holy S**T!!! Story: Absurdly complete and well... See full review
I docked its rating due to the initial length. Keyword being >>>initial<<<. This is for all the folks who thought this show was canceled. Netflix gave the green light for an additional eight episodes which means we get more Castlevania!
The premise is good and due to anime-planet tagging this puppy with "Revenge", One can almost guess what's going to happen within the first few minutes.
Overall, for the short time the creators were given, they did a really good job. The anime's story is pretty well... See full review
Tanya is a young blonde haired sociopathic soldier in an army very similar to Germany during WW1/2. She is cold, calculating, intelligent, faithless and unempathetic. Tanya the Evil is a breath a fresh air for those that are sick of anime with 100 billion main characters. There's really only one main character in this anime... and it's Tanya. After 8 episodes, I'm completely enamored with Tanya the Evil. Any anime that makes one want to watch a spin-off chibi anime while waiting for the next episode is definitely worth watching. The animation... See full review
If you're a Berserk fan and complaining about Berserk's animation.... you probably didn't see the original Berserk or at least forgot what it was a like. It was essentially a really well made powerpoint (and you loved every slide of it).
With that being said, the animation is still on point when you consider this Anime's roots. Berserk fans never watched this anime because of it's animation... they watched it for the story!
---- edit ----
I've been getting a lot of comments about how Berserk one had better animation. I'll tell yinz why I don't agree. You're confusing good... See full review
I really enjoyed reading the other reviews whining about how this didn't have a story/plot. So let me get this straight. The episodes are 4 minutes long... It's named Bikini Warriors... Did you not see the tits that ignored gravity on the cover or the fist 10 seconds of the anime? What the hell did you expect? I just imagine these people watching porn and focusing on the plumber bringing the wrong wrench. This is 100% ecchi and it did that pretty well.
See full reviewPlot and Characters I loved Revy in this, Same cold stare and with that zero f's attitude she keeps in her pocket. The sexual advance she made at rock was awesome and how she took rejection was even more interesting. Revy has done zero harm to this anime and I'm glad they're writing more manga. Rock... sucked. I mean I expected a lot of what he did, but I detested how ideological he was. I mean... He's always ideological but they went WAY overboard during the OVAs. He's always quick to share what's on his mind and that makes for unnatural dialogue. I knew one guy like Rock and the guy was a... See full review
Figured I'd brush up on some of the DBZ movies since DB super is coming out. Read this article about how awesome Broly was as a Villian. TBH, I don't know wtf they were watching because this guy has a one word vocabulary. He just grunts and says "kakarot". The action was lame and the storyline blew. I guess my expetation weren't all that high considering this *is* an anime movie. I think they focused a lot more than they should on that village. It's a distraction and took away from a movie. If you were fighting one of the most powerful adversaries in the... See full review
I watched 415 episodes of this before I finally gave up on it. Have you ever played poker? Well I went all in on this and lost my shirt. It's worth mentioning that this isn't a terrible anime if you avoid the filler. I'd recommend going online and viewing which episodes are the filler and just skipping them as they add literally nothing. There's a metric boat load of characters and I'm not going to explain each one like some lonely accountant. What's right about Shippuden: - A large character base with several personalities to build from - Quite a bit of action - Some... See full review
This anime is an epic work of art. Everything about how this is drawn and animated is just amazing. The figurative story requires critical thought and you take away as much as you put in. I wish there were more people that appreciate how truly awesome this is. With that being said, I can understand if you don't like it. It's absurdly crude. Also, I don't recommend taking LSD before watching this ;)
See full reviewWatch this anime at your own risk ;). This has spoilers in it because this anime IS NOT WORTH WATCHING. I didn't actually check anime planet before watching this. I was in the mood for an ecchi or some boobs so I clicked on this turd. News flash.. This isn't an ecchi.... ;~~~; --- Story Somehow, there is a story in this although I think the writers need to go back and read a few manga or watch some other anime to properly implement it. What pisses me off is there really was some cool concepts in this anime and they just failed. I don't know if this anime was cancelled but it certainly deserved to... See full review
Even though I rated this pretty low when it came to story, the story is actually what drew me in...at first. It was a fairly unique and truly absurd which is right up my ally. They have a plethora of characters with a broad range of personalities. There's also an unknown dynamic with the school itself which they elude to several times throughout the anime. This plot twist helped me to limp along with this turd. Character growth is all over the place and obnoxiously spelled out. Characters are quick to push their own ideas on how a person should live which makes it difficult stay immersed with such... See full review
This contains spoilers... you've been warned.
Characters - This will be the focus of the review as it's easily the most defining thing about this anime. The anime builds up the characters.... a lot. You get a feel for how any one character is going to act in a given situation. This is because you understand them emotionally. -_-
With that being said, They're Obnoxiously emotional... and it gets to be seriously annoying. There was a point mid way through the anime where if Talho said "quit running away" just ONE MORE TIME, I was going to drop... See full review
Claymore is overall a pretty mediocre anime. The main characters are fairly weak and annoying while the side characters are far more interesting. The little boy in this anime whines all the time and doesn't stop even after you turn the TV off. Then you go to the bar... Get drunk and the voices go away. I would compare the ending of this anime to an uncooked steak. It's bloody and not well done. The steak was obviously rushed and not what what was ordered. I wanted a sirloin steak and instead I got an ostriche leg. While this was unexpected and the ostriche leg has it's own charm. The server rushes over... See full review
This anime had SO MUCH potential and it was entertaining for a while. When this anime first started out, the characters were interesting, unique, and seemed to have serious potential for an amazing story line. Something that tugs at my short curlies is when an anime starts out really twisted which akame ga kill nailed. However, the rest of the anime wasn't like that at all.... I feel like I got honey potted. Bamboozled... Tricked.
While Akame ga kill attempted to create two different points of view (night raid and the jaegers) .... They failed miserably. Most of the... See full review
I really enjoyed SOA1 and 2 for nurmous reasons. 1. I can totally relate to this anime. (not people dying in an mmorpg...). It captures the nature of an MMORPG and some of the thoughts that one might have if they chose to reflect on it. 2. The story was pretty predictable but still entertaining. I almost vomitted when they said the name of the villian -_-. Seriously... couldn't think of anything better than that? 3. The one main character that they introduced in this season was super interesting however that's pretty much where it stops.... They don't dwelve into... See full review
This particular movie is actually one of the worst anime I've ever seen when it comes to connecting dots. It's one of the few anime that makes literally no sense at all. What's even more interesting is that this anime actually starts out as a super awesome movie... for about 15 minutes. This is one of the best drawn anime I've ever seen in my life. The Storyline that they start out with was awesome in my opinion. This anime takes place in world war 2 and you're viewing it from the Russian perspective. That's actually quite refreshing since it's typically from the viewpoint of other countries that... See full review
