damn, this anime loves sucking its own dick. at the heart of it is a good story but it is ruined for me by lousy pacing. a good mystery should draw you in, wracking your brains, suspecting everybody, rather than frustrating you by noticeably withholding information in an obvious attempt to drag things out. much time was filled with a character that was only there for fanservice and if removed, wouldn't affect the story at all. that's laughable in an anime that takes itself so seriously, with its main character dick swinging around town (while romancing a schoolgirl)

to me it sounds like rehashed stale humour and obnoxious personality gimmicks from the shounen mass production line. dialogue is dumb and over-the-top but not in a fun way like Baki or Jojo. he's invisible, I get it already, jeez

I like the look of it but too bad that, while ripping off Eva, it didn't notice Eva had good characters too. Kuromukuro's amount to: guy - strong protector, grab boob; girl - useless cutie, cook; scientist - evil sadist, German; and so on

at the risk of attracting more drive-by comments calling me a whiny feminist, I'll be honest that I was bothered by this being a sausage fest. I liked everything the anime did but also found myself wanting the perspective of female patients (this doesn't mean I can't empathise with dudes or that we don't share experiences) but WHY NOT make half the patients women? is it that difficult? I hope I was sufficiently apologetic about my opinion to be allowed to have it, although I do appreciate when people take the time to EXPLAIN why I'm wrong

the first episode was fun but the anime descends into 'I've seen these jokes many times before' after that

I dropped a Masaaki Yuasa anime because the plot was trite. saddest day of my life! but one really must try harder when creating a misery-guts teenage character because it'll be compared to the countless other mingy teenage characters that already exist

guy feels guilty and sad, little sister being cute, buxom sister being motherly, someone cries, guy feels less sad, ah the animation sure is pretty. rinse and repeat

the visuals are lavish but I don't like the ethos of this anime. it's too sacharrine for me. the success of an anime where all the visual and audio cues are designed to pull at your heart strings relies on liking the characters and caring about what happens to them. I didn't care about them and therefore it felt contrived and transparent rather than immersive. to be clear, the visual language is competent, for example the contrast between Rei's large but soulless apartment and the Kawamotos' cramped but cosy house is good characterisation. no character comes to pat Rei on the shoulder and say for the benefit of the audience 'so, as we know Rei, you are melancholic because...' which is what they do in BAD anime

this was a shit ecchi because there were no naked men bathing, no balls held by straps and no men walking around in underwear. I want my money back.

Maria intervenes to stop a battle pretty effectively but only after it had been going on for a while. so I guess some deaths are fine but when the quota is reached she gets an alert on her fitbit and only then swoops in. 

also, did you know that the Catholic Church are powermongering hypocrites? wow, this anime is so deep

Garo - a better anime that also has fanservice, witches, persecution, shit medieval times and the English-speaking cast butchering a European language they don't know
