I wish it were darker n more serious in tone (a bit like the beginning of Vampire Princess Miyu) because they failed at balancing the horror with the humour. I wish all these anime adaptations would do the CLAMP character designs justice

the CLAMP designs are the only decent thing about this, especially the school uniform. the monsters are pretty good too, so is the action, except for Saya waiting for the monster to finish devouring its victim before launching an attack (in ep 12 it is shown that Saya is capable of preventing this when she saves Kanako from the mouth of a monster, retrospectively making all previous action scenes even dumber). also nobody puts their arms up in defence when attacked, a feature of many a shit anime (well, Saya does cause it's part of a well-animated action scene) 

all the school characters and all their interactions are every-bad-school-anime cliches. they could have served their purpose of contrasting Saya's ordinary daytime with her extraordinary nighttime had they been good. all the expositioning while standing around is atrocious - making eps 1 & 11 the worst
