Hello visitor! ¿Qué tal?

Oh how wonderful it is to 'meet' you!

Welcome to my page, as there is not much to see here feel free to read this drivel that I have spewed forth from my keyboard.

I'm just some Brit living in the good ol' south of England; I can see the sea from here, but not really. I have been watching anime as of September 2014 which still makes me fairly new to anime, but I have seen a fair few shows since I started. Even so, there are still so many shows I need to watch (about ten thousand or so).

Why did I start watching anime I hear you not asking me? Due to the increasing frequency at which I started to notice it, not to mention some of my friends had been watching a bit already, I decided to have a look myself. I started with Kill la Kill, the show I had heard of most recently at the time, and that basically plunged me into all things Japanese media.

I have delved into manga a bit too, only barely brushed the surface though. I have liked a lot of what I have read so far, some stand out examples being Sasameki Koto which I found to be a wonderful read, and Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaete mo Omaera ga Warui! that I had started due to having thouroughly enjoyed the anime. I'll expand my manga horizons in due time, I have quite a few things to read that I like the look of.

I joined the Anime Planet chat in April of 2015 and was appointed a moderator in August of that same year.

Favourite anime: I have a fair few, in fact I have lists for these sorts of things. Obviously Kill la Kill is one of them:

How I rate: My ratings are a simple representation of my overall enjoyment of an anime or manga.

I set 5/10 or 2.5 stars as the 'neither good nor bad' rating, just mediocre. Generally speaking, shows I would recommend are going to have a rating of at least 7/10 (3.5 stars). It goes without saying, yet I am still going to type it out, that the higher the rating the more I'd recommend the anime or manga in question.

Because I was bored I calculated my average rating. I found it to be 5.85 (to 3 significant figures) at the time I had 601 things rated. That's going to change obviously so I'll just say that my average rating is 6/10 (3 stars) approximately. Let me say that a 6/10 is still a 'good' rating, it's just where my average sits.

Some interesting facts about me: None, har har!

I don't really know what would qualify as 'interesting' but if you want to chat then feel free to leave a comment. Some basic stuff: I live in England, I am a student, some other thing that I forgot, I play games on the ol' pc, and finally I watch stuff like anime which goes without saying since I made an account on this site in the first place.

Anyway that's enough from me. Thanks for reading all my nonsense.

- JC

SpanglishJC says...  [RE: monthly RL anime club meetings] Sounds like you had a pretty good time then. That's quite a long time between meetings.

You'd be surprised; you can get used to watching anime that way! One or two episodes each month.  At first, it was difficult, but since all my RL anime clubs are this way, I soon adjusted to it.

SpanglishJC says...  As for WECO I'll have to think about it. The marathon can be a pain when they run heh. I am also mulling over if I want to volunteer being some sort of mod on the site.    Uni is coming up in October, and I don't know how much time I will get. I'll let you know what I decide once I get back home.

I know - life can be pretty busy.  I'm juggling WECO with site mod stuff, and my job amongst all the other things I do.  That's why it can be hard to fit the marathon stuff in, but I love it, so I really try hard to make it all work.  WECO stuff has been especially hard lately since it has to be done every day for me (no days off) and the site has been getting 700-900 new members each day and "my" assignments have been 300+ names each day since half of my Greeters are out on hiatus.  I'm getting a bit desperate, which is why I asked if you can come back and help.

I figured if I could get a little help from a lot of Greeters, it would make a significant difference for me, while not asking too much from the Greeters.  That was my goal, anyway.

I'd love it if your schedule allows you to help.  If it doesn't, it doesn't though, and I understand.  I was hoping you'd reactivate after your exams in June a year ago, but it didn't work out.  Ill keep my fingers  crossed it might work out in the future.

SpanglishJC  says...  Hi, I'm doing alright. Arrived in Spain last night after some hectic travelling. We had two flights to catch with only forty minutes between them thanks to the first plane being delayed an hour or so!  How are you?

You are lucky to be able to travel so much - I'd love to be able to travel more, but time and money are often scarce.  Usually, only one or the other is available, but not both at the same time!

I'm very happy though, that my mom and my sister recently were able to come out to visit me in California for my birthday this year.  It was great having them visit - I hadn't seen them in person in about 5 years!  So it's been special times for me.  I'm sad they had to go back home.

WECO could really use help these days!  There are sooo many new members signing up to the site, and not nearly enough Greeters to welcome them all.  I myself am greeting hundreds of new people every single day, and it is hard for one person to welcome so many people every single day.

So, I'm reaching out for help.

You've helped WECO as a Greeter in the past, and have indicated you might be able to help again in the future.  So, I'm asking if you will come back and help again when you return home and settle in again.  You don't have to spend a lot of time; 10-20 names each day takes less than 5 minutes of time per day, and less than a half hour a week, but it would help me out soooo much.

Please seriously consider reactivating as a Greeter.  If yes, just get back to me to let me know which days you can help and how many names you want.  Even 10 names one day a week would help!!!!

I see, thanks. And while I'm at it, when is the next marathon?

Sianeka Jul 20, 2017

Hi! Just checking in to see how you are doing?

zerothehero Jul 9, 2017

Thanks.

I was also wondering how do you get Mvps? I noticed I have the most mvps but I don't know how I got them.
