Okay, one might easily be confused why I gave an overall rating lower than any of the individual ratings and the answer is simple: the ending! This was a magnificent story with a lot of drama with believable people full of personal flaws who come together in a magnificent way. Everything was playing out so well until the last chapter or three and then it just took a flaming crash dive into the bombs and fuel stacked on deck. My best recommendation, because the whole series was so worthwhile, is to read it and stop about 4 chapters short of the end and imagine your own favorite ending.
