I'm here just to say that your comment about 3rd season of Log Horizon is in its place and I totally agree with you! +1

Hi! Glad to hear you really enjoyed A Silent Voice. Obviously, I didn't, but it's great that you (and most everyone else, it seems) did.

Now, that we disagree is perfectly fine--but I would like to clarify one thing that either I didn't make clear enough or that you might not have gotten from my review:

It's not that I dislike the movie because I think it's not as good as the book. I dislike the movie because I think it's a bad movie--and, more specifically, a bad adaptation. Further, my problem actually lies with how the movie didn't move further away from the source material. (I honestly think the movie should have cut half the cast and rejiggered the story from there.)

That is, much of the movie was lifted directly from the pages of the books--but without the connecting scenes that provide the context for the actions in those scenes. As such, to me, the characters in the film felt undefined and their actions often inexplicable. Thus the story and the characters got very low scores from me.

Naoka was awesome, though.

Oh! Actually, that's the perfect example:

I absolutely LOVE this moment from the movie. It's everything you need to know about the relationship these two are going to have from this point onwards.

Fun fact: not in the books!

Their future relationship is, yes, but it's relayed quite differently. (In the books it's more subtle and dialogue-y.) This moment is a much, much, much more appropriate way to make the same point in a movie--because it's quick and dynamic. (So good!)

But this is the kind of thing I think the movie needed to do more of, rather than trying to fit a heavily-abridged page-accurate version of all the big story beats into 120 minutes.

Anyway, I hope that helps you understand my take a little bit more. It's not a very popular one, I know, but we can't all agree on everything, right?

Hello, and thanks for adding custom lists on Anime-Planet!

The site has recently launched some changes and now have a few new privacy levels for lists, including ‘Private’ (the default value for custom lists), and ‘People who visit my profile’ for personal tracking (‘Things I plan to watch in 2016’) that your friends might want to know about, or personal challenge lists, etc. These can be seen in your profile, or everywhere across the site for those who follow you. Here’s a full writeup of the privacy levels.

Your lists have been changed to ‘People who visit my profile’ - you’ll see a small eye icon (that only you or your followers will see) next to these lists titles, because they don't list descriptions/reasons for the anime being on the list and/or they are personal-type lists. If you eventually decide to turn these into community lists (lists with descriptive titles and descriptions for each list item) feel free to change the privacy level to “Everyone” to make a list public. (A little note for each item why it made the list would be great to see!)

Community lists should almost always have a reason for each item, because the person reading will want to know why it’s good (or bad).  Listing reasons shows why THESE anime shows are on YOUR list!

Thanks again, and let me know if you have any questions!

Hahaha, that may actually have been when I started to sour on the series.  The episode before they started fighting sea king was original and went outside the bounds of your typical action anime, I'm not sure if I can say that for any episode after.Props for the avatar, I really want to watch Akito.
