Bungo Stray Dogs

Dec 23, 2019

Story: In a world environment similar to Durarara!! we observe the main characters working in a supernatural goofy detective agency, mainly competing against the naughty and mischievous Port mafia gangsters. It is a decent idea in a solidly built world, however we never get to know much about any related details as to why, when or what. The introduction to the rules and all the overall pretty wide character ensemble takes a significant time through episodic intervals, mixing serious action and a bit of drama with a stacked amount of jokes and perks of the protagonists. Both contrasting sections are not... See full review

Children of the Whales

Dec 27, 2017

The biggest disappointment for me of this season. Children of the Whales very demonstratively show how to simply ruin a a story with an unusual premise. The mysterious world, the inhabitants of a lost vessel who possess unnatural powers and can manipulate with objects through spells that picks their tax on them, a plethora of unanswered and inquisitive questions; all in all it is a topic that would always get my consenting signature. This enthusiasm is also supported by a very unusual, perfectly romantic-oily drawing of scenic backgrounds and the characters are also portrayed as sympathetic and giving out a... See full review

FLIP FLAPPERS

Dec 24, 2017

I'll try to be general: If you are a fan of Trigger/Gainax studios and you don't need a complicated plot to get yourself amused, I would highly recommend Flip Flappers to you. There is not that much going in the story, but the flurry of colours, the speed and relentless waves of surreal pictures, lots of exposition, mindless action and illogical flow convert this piece in a weird state of art and entertainment. It definitely is not for everyone. Story: There is not much going on in the beggining. The audience is thrown into a twister of information, hardly grasping any sense and question the direction of... Made in Abyss

Sep 29, 2017

First things first: By any chance, don't be fooled by the childish appearance of the poster! Although children are the main characters, this has close to a children's show as has the Alien to romantic comedy. If I'd have to find thematically find a similar kind of anime, I would compare it to Madoka Magica or Shinsekai Yori. I will, however, boldly step futher, and calmly declare the bare fact that those, who won't get discouraged and give this show a chance will witness one of the best anime series in the last few years. I won't beat around the bush, but the fantastic world of Made in Abyss charmed me... See full review

Owarimonogatari II

Aug 26, 2017

"If you were to die the day after tomorrow, I shall live for 3 days time and tell a tell about you to someone"

One the most monumental quotes easily depicts and conveys my feelings not just about this series, but the overall feeling for the whole Monogatari universe itself. There were definitely ups and downs, smiles and tearjerkers, neverending dialogues and sudden choices, many mistakes and a few right decisions, a lot of saved souls but all without haveing a salvation for yourself. Well, I might have lied a little about that last one.

The second season of Owarimonogatari concludes... See full review
