Just actually noticed that it posted to your page and not as a comment response to the review. Was in response to the comment on: http://www.anime-planet.com/users/SenileSuccubus/reviews/12211#comments
No, there isn't any follow-up season to Oreimo S2. The series was a direct port of the Light Novel series, which contains 12 volumes (plus one bonus content volume full of side stories). The final episode in Season 2 goes all the way through the end of volume 12 and some of the bonus content had cameos in a couple of the episodes, though most were ignored since they view parts of the story from the perspective of a different character.
It had nothing to do with the editor, that's simply how the Light Novel ends. The only change to the ending of the story is the last 30 seconds of the final episode.
THERE ARE SPOILERS HERE
IF YOU DON'T WANT THIS TO BE SPOILEd READ THE LIGHT NOVEL BEFORE READING ANY FURTHER.
At the end of the Light Novel Kirino forces Kyousuke to buy her a ring, which he does, while they're in Akiba. He then asks her if she remembers their agreement to do one thing he asks her. Kirino has a short inner monologue stating that if he though of a way to use their agreement here it couldn't be good. Kyousuke then asks Kirino to come closer to him, and when she does he kisses her on the lips. The novel ends with Kirino jumping away from him and telling him that their life counseling sessions are far from over.
In an interview the author of the novel said that he was happy with everything but that one scene in the anime, as the kiss he gives Kirino was written to be a romantic kiss on the lips and not a quick kiss on the cheek.
