It definitely depends on your goals & what you like. Of the three, I'd say Mai-Hime is actually the best. Choosing between FMP and Mouretsu is tough...FMP is older & more well known, so if you want to expand your "background" knowledge, it's a good choice. On the other hand, Mouretsu's story is more coherent and animation is probably better. Mouretsu's humor is more situational, and FMP's is gag-based.

Thanks for your comment on my review! I'd say Mouretsu Pirates is a lot like Mai-Hime or Fullmetal Panic, except it is not as silly as FMP and not as serious as Mai-Hime. Hope that answers your question! :)

Yeah indeed SG has no relations to SAO(i've mentioned that lol), i just find it kinda odd that SAO is just 0.5 points away from Steins;Gate(and yes, i hate SAO, already done a review and rant on it), and btw i just brought Steins;Gate out once lol.

About the tsundere issue, Asuna is the generic tsundere with nearly no depth at all, at least Kurisu has some depth to her and she helps move the plot along, you can see her importance to the plot and as a character. Asuna is just there for fan-service and is used just as a plot device and not an actual character, from a "dynamic" tsundere to a damsel in distress, even if she wasn't there in the show it would probably not change much at all(Kirito can find other girls anyways since he is always doing that)

Hi there. Thanks for the recommendations. I was just thinking that you are recommending animes I already want to watch haha but thanks for expounding upon them. I only watch one series at a time. So I'll start on the things you recommended after I finish Bebop :P. Full Metal Alchemist is awesome. There is a lot of overlapping with brotherhood but deviation in the story is worth watching IMO. And yes, our tastes do seem to bear resemblance. :P I like shows that give me something to think about and/or instill some good characteristics in me :D

Other animes I think you should try: Kino's Journey, Mushishi, Monster, Ergo Proxy
