Truly meets and exceeds expectations. This story tells of personified gemstones who seek to find purpose together and striving against the Lunarians, beings who would turn them into decoration. The premise may sound odd but the way that the world is presented is brilliant, it doesn't feel the need to explain everything to the viewer in piles of exposition but does and excellent job of showing the world and all that it has to offer. Giving the world even greater depth and a great sense of wonder is the soundtrack which consistently goes above and beyond lending mood and tone to the series.

Better than all of that is our main character Phos, a lazy, free spirit of a gem who struggles to find purpose due to inherent qualities such as how soft Phos is. Phos’ journey to find purpose creates one of the best character arcs I’ve seen in a long time. The themes, writing, and Phos’ character all come together to present a grand narrative distinct from anything you’ve seen before.

The animation is no slouching factor either. The 3d animation from studio Orange shines in a way truly befitting a story of gems and light.

This series is a must watch. If I had to complain. It would be that there is only one season thus far. If enough people go seek this out, we can fix that. If we get a season 2, this is a 10.
