WECO's (WElcoming COmmittee) recommendations to new users

Here are some anime that the people in WECO (a committee where volunteers greet new users in order to help them feel more comfortable here) found good for people who got into anime recently. We hope it will help you and enjoy them.
1 A Silent Voice

A Silent Voice

Silent Voice is a movie about a young deaf girl and her childhood bully. In only the span of a movie, the two of them get some amazing character development, and their relationships with each other and those around them are so much fun to watch. If you like character driven stories, you would definitely enjoy Silent Voice.

2 Snow White with the Red Hair

Snow White with the Red Hair

Snow White with the Red Hair is a beautiful romance series set in a fantasy world. The main character, Shirayuki, is smart, kind, and strong willed, and the rest of the characters are just as colourful and fun! If you like Disney movies, you would absolutely love this series!

3 Angel Beats!

Angel Beats!

Angel Beats is a drama and comedy anime that hits you right in the feels, and then make you laugh and finally cry too much. It’s an anime about death and reincarnation that shows many interesting characters and with exactly the right amount of laughs and tears. If you look for something a bit different than your usual school anime I’s totally recommend it to you!

Attack on Titan

Attack on titan is a good anime for people who like action and violence. It has an enviroment similar to post-apocalyptic and you see the characters struggle with their missions and to keep their lives. If you enjoy anime that have a more tragic and dramatic background then you'll love this.

6 Haganai: I Don't Have Many Friends

Haganai: I Don't Have Many Friends

Plot is very exciting, especially when there is the element of harem. You will enjoy that anime and every person in that anime is diffrent. Graphic line is sweet as expected from a romance anime. Soundtrack is good too. I recommend that anime to all the anime fans.

Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!

Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai, a light-hearted romantic comedy with its own fair share of drama. Awesome animation, perfect actor voices who makes unforgattable the characters. Moe moe moe moe. If you watch anime and somebody tells you that is childish, you could better understand what main chars feel.

8 Death Parade

Death Parade

Death Parade is a mature, thriller, and psychological anime that focuses on the complicated theme of ethicality. The small twist is that the main character, Decim, is not a typical human, but rather an unknown entity portrayed as a human along with having no emotions. Decim's job is to draw out the true nature of people and ultimately decide whether that person deserves to end up in 'Heaven' or 'Hell'. I recommend this anime to anyone who wants to put their brain to work.

9 Durarara!!

Durarara!!

Durarara is a supernatural anime that focuses on a handful of colorful characters within the beautiful, but eerie city of Ikebukuro. The anime does a solid job in presenting its world setting and how the characters interact with the many events that take place within the city. If you are looking for an anime that has a unique world setting, diverse cast of characters with a supernatural vibe to the story, give this a try!

11 Haikyuu!!

Haikyuu!!

Haikyuu is a sport anime that is very realistc. It doesn't show people with extraordinary skills, everyone works really hard to achieve their goals and gather experience. The characters are great, with very visible character development and you end up loving both the protagonists and antagonists.

12 When They Cry: Higurashi

When They Cry: Higurashi

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is a mystery horror psychological show. It’s born as a sound novel then you don’t expect an outstanding animation. The plot is split in arc. The story follows a group of guys in a Japanese village. They are cute; they done play a lot until one of them go crazy. Arc after arc, the bond among them become always stronger. It’s a peculiar show that joins moe with some of the most crazy and interesting characters in anime world. A must for people who love psychological series.

13 Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid

If I can only use one word to describe Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, it would be 'heartwarming'. The overall structure of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid can be described as heartwarming; from the characters, to the comedy and even to the art and animation. The comedy is subtle. There's no buildup to it, but rather the jokes come in naturally. The characters are very likeable and despite most of them are dragons with magical powers and originate from mythological worlds, they feel human. The anime as a whole is soft to the eyes and I highly recommend it to someone who wants an anime that is incredibly light-hearted.

14 My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia

Boku no Hero Academia, is an anime about heroes and villains. In a world that most of the population has a quirk (super-power) our protagonist, Deku is quirkless; yet he aspires to be the biggest hero of all. While it seems like your classic shounen anime if you watch it you’ll see how right you are but.. it is so good that you won’t mind rewatching it again and again!!

16 Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Some people of the general public assume anime is just for kids. When they say that, I immediately think of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. This is a psychological anime that looks incredibly light-hearted with cute young girls ,innocent magical animals and 'Fairytale-like' magic powers. However, this anime does not focus on the positives of becoming an individual with magical powers, but rather the prices that must be paid; let alone if an individual can endure those consequences. I can easily recommend this anime to those who wants some 'Tinkerbell magic', but with a twist to the wrists.

17 Rurouni Kenshin

Rurouni Kenshin

For ones who lack ‘healthy’ humor in modern shows I could recommend “Rurouni Kenshin”, it has a lot of episodes, but it’s worth watching, trust me ^-^ The show is pretty realistic, has deep meaning and great idea, also there’s many action scenes, comedic elements and some romance lines! The story replaces us to feudal Japan 11th year of Meiji period (1878), main character , Himura Kenshin, ex assassin from the Bakumatsu, known as Hitokiri Battosai, now only Ronin, who wanders to protects people with vow to never choose another way of life. Will he keep his vow? And how he’s gonna do that? Interested? – so just take huge bowl of popcorn and enjoy the show!

18 Senyuu.

Senyuu.

Do you want a funny, filled with one liners, short anime? Then this is the one for you! A concise anime that parodies the RPG shounen type without becoming one. Follow Alba the hero, age-inappropriate Ros and the young demon Ruki in their quest of defeating the evil and learning the truth about the huge hole that appeared in the world.

19 Sonic X

Sonic X

I can recommend Sonic X. It's friendly anime for users that want to begin adventure with anime. It has 70 episodes, but it doesn't problem if they like that title. It's well known show, but the most of people who watched it doesn't know it's anime. It's based on the famous game Sonic!

20 Tokyo Ghoul

Tokyo Ghoul

"I‘d recommend “Tokyo Ghoul” show for people who starts watching anime not only because it has interesting plot and is pretty catchy, agree that it has many horror elements, but also it touches many relevant topics like friendship, relationships, social issues, hard choices and many others. Actually the story twists around guy, Kaneki Ken, who love books and is an ordinary student, but once everything changes… (won’t spoil). So, it perfectly fits people who search for action, good-written story and meaningful background.
