Soloist in A Cage

Jun 14, 2021

Simple story but done incredibly well. tl;dr at the bottom.  Soloist in a cage is probably one of the best manga I've read in a long time. I binged it and enjoyed every single chapter of it.   Story The premise is simple yet somewhat complex. We basically have this gigantic prison turned city (similar to arkham city). In that dark place we meet with our protagonist, a little girl taking care of her baby brother after their parents disappeared. Her neighbour's are three prisoners from the neighbouring enemy country and have been crafting an escape. When executing the plan, our protagonist goes... See full review

Arata Primal: The New Primitive

Jun 12, 2021

Arata is a story about a survivalist kid, time travel and prehistory. It has a very slow setup at first but I personally feel it pays off at the end. Sadly, by the end it felt rushed but it ties almost everything up so it doesn't feel like it was a dragged story. I also believe it was canceled so that was the reason why it rushed but I'm not sure about this part, correct me if I am wrong.  Story As I said before, we have a very simple story with some very common themes. Arata grew up isolated with his father, he's a survivalist enthusiast and socially awkward and almost primeval at times, we have... See full review

Macho Max

May 1, 2021

Macho Max is an average history. Something you would enjoy reading on an afternoon, after work (out).
It's a simple history about an average guy that befriends the bodybuilding club at uni.
The story is a 5.
It's simple, doesn't take itself serious and it's just plainly nothing really interesting if bodybuilding, muscles and/or gyms aren't your thing. Art is average too. Nothing impressive, nothing new but it has a charm because it evokes an older school of manga style. It looks and feels like something made in the early 80s. Characters aren't noteworthy at all because they all just serve the... See full review

Attack on Titan

Apr 10, 2021

Most of these reviews are trash, let's be honest. They either love it waaaaay too much (seriously, a 10 for art?) or hate it waaaaay too much (a 1? lol)

Imma bring some objectivity here and some personal takes. STORY The strongest point of SnK is the story. The good: Although the setting is nothing new, the author made the first half interesting in such a way that it became a mainstream sensation when it was animated.
The story is engaging, most times you keep asking for more thanks to several misteries that aren't addressed at first.
The bad: After the first half the story felt rushed... See full review

Phantom Seer

Apr 5, 2021

Phantom Seer is not a bad manga.
It has an above average score here (in AP) but it ultimately got axed from publication due to low ratings/interest.
Let's break it up a little according to my own tastes and 'some' objetivity. STORY Is it unique? Not at all. Is it engaging? A little. Does it have that 'special' something that makes you want to read more? Debatable but I think it did. Phantom Seer is a story about some kid that exorcises bad spirits and a gal that can see them. Of course there's more to it: Our guy comes from a very powerful and famous family, his sister is op and everything... See full review

Farming Life in Another World

Apr 1, 2021

I'm actually impressed by this work.  TL;DR at the bottom.  Slight spoilers ahead, nothing that will ruin your experience tho.  Farming life in another world (FL from now on) is exactly what the title says so don't expect an insane story with a complex plot. Our mc dies in real world after being bed ridden for some time so, after being asked by God how he wants to reincarnate, he decides that he just wants to live a normal life farming his days away. The god being impressed by his request grants him something like a universal farming tool that can transform in any tool he needs and its... See full review

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes

Mar 21, 2021

MHA:V is one of the rare cases when a spin-off is just as good (and sometimes even better) than it's source material. Let's break it up: STORY
Vigilantes builds on what's already built. Is this a bad thing? Quite the contrary in this case. Even though its building on the same field (same world, some already known characters, same hero society setting), it manages to make a name for itself by focusing on the outcasts and average-joes/janes of hero society.
While MHA focuses on Midoriya, his personal quest on becoming the number one hero and the rest of top heroes, Vigilantes introduces us to a new... See full review

The Saga of Tanya the Evil

Mar 16, 2021

I dropped this a second time at chapter 3 (originally I read a little more but that was some years ago) So Tanya is a good series overall, has a nice setup, cool world, it's unique as an isekai can be and it's not hard on the eyes. So what's my issue with it? A couple of things: 1.- Characters: They're not bad but to be honest I just couldn't like the MC at all. I can't even fully remember any other characters by name nor face. The MC has quite a nasty personality for my taste so I just couldn't get behind him/her. 2.- Trivia. Trivia is cool. Dr. Stone does this every chapter and it's genuinely... See full review

Angel Densetsu

Feb 18, 2021

A fun story with a somewhat satisfying ending.
We follow Kitano and his somewhat daily life full of misunderstandings thanks to him having 'an odd face' (basically the guy is fugly and scary looking). Story It's not a masterpiece but it is engaging, story is certainly the strongest point of this manga.
Even though it's a funny light story it does touch on an important matter: Never judge a book for his its cover. This is specially true for our protagonist who, despite looking like the devil incarnated, has the sweetest heart of the world. Art This is the weakest point of the manga. It's old, and...
