PSYCHO-PASS

Apr 14, 2020

Psycho Pass

Undoubtedly a top favorite of its genre and class. Questionable why it took me so long to watch it.

Among other things, I have to note that the first season of this work reminds me a little of "The Mentalist", an American crime series that follows a similar principle in terms of characters. Both relationships and actions. Among other things, it sweetened the look.

In any case, this work offers a very interesting plot that is rich in detail. Japan, which developed a new system in which the human psyche is monitored to recognize all potentially dangerous people.
The real story revolves around a unit of this system, which the following people must track down and arrest, or eliminate if necessary.

A very interesting Psychological Mystery title in which humanity and the system are questioned. And the truth is only tempting and deadly.

Genre:

Almost flawless implementation. There is nothing to complain about.

Story:

The action is extremely exciting and is determined to pursue its goal. There are no unnecessary fillers and the focus is on excitement and detail.

The absolute system ensures peace in Japan and the characters are the tools that practice this peace in practice. But where the official truth ends, the real one begins. What is direction and wrong? How many rights does a human being have? How much is this system worth to sacrifice for it?

Many interesting approaches and an excellent implementation of the plot.
As already mentioned, the first season is very similar to "The Mentalist", who has seen the series will understand what I am referring to.

Animations / pictures:

Nice design of the environment and general animations. The few fights that are still there are very respectable. For the most part, however, the focus is on gun battles.

Characters:

Ah the characters, which is really very handsome.

The protagonist is a profound fighting machine and goes his own thorny path for the justice he seeks. No matter what the consequences are. A very mature personality and person who exudes pleasant sympathy.

The protagonist who is a real rabbit foot at the beginning and may seem like a thorn in the side of some people is an impressive character. Her style is an interesting contrast to the protagonist and her character development handles the whole thing all the better. I would even go as far as to say that she is one of the best written female anime roles. Both of personality, as well as their role and actions.

The rest of the characters never subside. May have slightly less screen time, but they are all of high quality.

Especially the actual antagonist of this season. Immensely profound and critical of society. A feast for the eyes of anyone looking for a profound and promising opponent.

Music:

Both the first and second intro are very strange, but that's less of a yardstick for evaluation. Musically everything is satisfactory.

What jumped into my ears more are the soundtracks. Which were chosen beautifully and interestingly. Some that you would also know outside of this work.

My conclusion

Without a doubt a top title as it is in the book. This work has almost no weaknesses and practically only strengths. I can recommend it to anyone looking for a title that is not stupid.

The biggest question for me is. How would our society work with such a system?

10/10 story
8/10 animation
7/10 sound
9/10 characters
9.5/10 overall
