I watch anime almost daily. Mostly romance, slice of life, mecha, idol stuff, kids' shows, and some harem. Not a fan of generic action-shounen, horror, or stuff dealing with hardships or social commentary.  My favorite animes of all time (as of now) are Megazone 23, Mashiro-iro Symphony, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Macross in that order.
I do (traditional) animation myself and work on several projects.

I do not consider myself as an anime expert of any kind, anime just happens to overlap with many of my other interests. If there's a live-action drama version of an anime, I'll probably watch that instead. I am not really into movies, especially in anime. Otaku culture is somewhat of a hit and miss in my case, I do follow cosplay, and appreciate discussion of a production, but the hardcore gamer aspects or pillows are not my thing. It's also a bit of a different demographic, most people my age tend to have been a part of it since early teen years, while I had no interest in anything like this as a kid or teenager, and spent my time mostly outside with friends doing dumb things. It was only recently when I bumped into any of this.

Other interests include older cars, disco and HiNRG music, film photography and processing, drinking, shouwa idols, synthesizers, analog electronics, spacecraft, Vocaloids, Touhou etc...

I don't read manga that much and I'm not much of a gamer so I don't know much about them. I am also far from a book worm and I also tend to keep out from any communities (except this one) or conventions. I do consume a lot of nijisousaku stuff such as MMDs on NicoNicoDouga and 4-komas.

I recently updated my ranking scheme to allow more flexibility. I used not to rank any anime 5 because no anime can (probably) be perfect, but that left me less options so I am in process of converting my old rankings. Note also that I'm cherrypicking quite heavily on what I watch and therefore the average ranking may seem high. This is because I don't want to waste time on boring stuff.

My ratings/reviews are entirely subjective unless otherwise mentioned. They do not necessarily reflect on the quality of work but rather my subjective view.
