Sword Art Online II

Dec 28, 2014

Not really a review, but it is more of a response to negative reviews that say the anime is so boring and doesn't have enough action or that the characters are lacking: I think a lot of people miss the point of this anime... I used to think it was about the action but looking into what they're really trying to do with the story line, I see that this anime is not supposed to be like those shounen animes where you have non stop action packed episodes. This anime is aiming to tackle the issues of the blurring of boundaries of the real world and virtual reality. The show's action is actually a supporting... See full review

Love Get Chu: Miracle Seiyuu Hakusho

Aug 16, 2014

Just some quick thoughts since I didn't finish the anime. The idea of the anime was cute and I actually really like voice-acting and an actual story about it was great and because of the story, I really really wanted to watch it. The problem and reason why I dropped it? The characters were extremely irritating and none of them seem likeable for me. I really did try to watch more, but I just couldn't stand them. To be honest, I tried to watch this anime twice. Both of times for the same reasons. I tried to watch it a second time hoping I grew out of my dislike for the characters... still didn't change... Kurokami The Animation

Jul 5, 2014

Story - 6/10 To start with, the storyline had quite some interesting themes that could have gone into so much exploration. The idea of a doppeliner system was quite a unique idea and I thought, had a lot of promise to it. However, the actual anime itself, in my opinion, failed the actual storyline. In 23 episodes, I would say, is a good number of episodes to sum everything up, however, there were many character introductions that were extremely random and there were random villains here and there that were totally unnecessary to the entire storyline but were just there for show. For... See full review

A Lull in the Sea

Apr 7, 2014

Summary Nagi no Asukara (aka Nagi-Asu) is based in a semi-fantasy world. Humans used to live upon the ocean floor but there were a curious few who decided to leave and see the surface. Some stayed and lived there. As time went on, the surface people and the sea people became separated and usually had nothing to do with each other. However, the story begins when Nami Junior High School shuts down and the remaining students had to go and study in a school at the surface. Our 14-year-old protagonists undergo many differences to their relationships and surroundings, and have to learn to cope... See full review

Short review. Story - 7.5/10 If you've seen Great Teacher Onizuka, this is just what Gokusen is about. Only it's a female and she's the heir of a Yakuza gang. I've always liked the idea of teachers dealing with delinquents and changing them into better people. It's one of those animes that actually inspires me and that teaching is actually a very rewarding job. Plus, the slapstick comedy is pretty good in this one. Only thing that bugged me was that the anime didn't incorporate a lot of the elements I liked in the manga. Not a fan of animes that just "tease" audiences into reading the... See full review
