A refreshingly cool female character in such an old-school 'mindless fun' series as Fighter G Gundam, and a very welcome addition to the cast. Has a lot of value on her own, and works great with the other characters.

Her story was one of the most interesting in the whole of Carole & Tuesday and was a thrill to follow along with. She has true talent.

Celty's arguably the protagonist of her story, and one of the more interesting ones i've seen. Her character arc really gets going after a while, and although she does have a romance, it's not her only purpose in the narrative to any extent. Suggested by candylover246

Funny, cool and fun to watch in the show. I appreciate this one a lot especially in Part 2.

Doll had a very unique and interesting story and was a very strong lead in the narrative in Kuroshitsuji: Book of Circus. Hers is a tragic story, and you can really feel the passion that went into making her character. Not like a lot of female characters, and definitely likeable.

Ennis is cool and likeable. What she goes through is entertaining to watch and she plays a big part in the train's prologue. She doesn't fall into fanservice tropes, or typical divesity inclusion tropes. She's just cool.

Lots of fun to watch and champloo truly wouldn't be the same without her. Lots of great characters in the show but she's one of the best.

It took me too long to put one of my favorite anime characters of all time on this list. Late into the game, kayano proves herself to be one of the most interesting anime characters I've ever seen. She has so many layers. It's hard to describe why she's on this list due to spoilers, but I definitely know she deserves a spot among the best.

I don't know how they did it, but they successfully managed to create a girl that doesn't fall into a single female character trope. Not a single one. Just for that she belongs on this list as she is both entertaining and pretty cool just by default of being a super-strength beast with a steel machine-gun umbrella

She's a good strong character and there's a lot to love about her. Her gender doesn't affect her character, she's just Kino. She also looks cool and is a badass.

The young brilliant detective from ID:Invaded makes an excellent edition to the list. As her title implies, she's both smart and skilled in the field, though not without her flaws such as recklessness. She's one of the most interesting characters to watch.

A great compliment to the other two MCs and just as interesting. It's fun to watch her beat the hell out of things and be a general badass, but even better to see her characterization grow. Suggested by candylover246

A very welcome character in such an interestingly strange series, provides a lot of grounded reasoning and a sarcastic tone that's enjoyable. She's essensial to the plot in a good way. She's not annoying, and of course mostly not sexualized AT LEAST IN THE ANIME.

Provides a great POV for a main character in this sort of story, and she's not without her problems either unlike the mary sue you'd expect her to be. She's a decent character that you end up rooting for as she goes through everything.

To Your Eternity's brilliant action hero, with only one goal in mind, to protect her surrogate little sister. Parona has sensiblities for being a good big sister, and is very protective, but more than that, she's a total badass, while still being flawed and human in her naivete and unpolished skills which she uses best she can. She's a true hero. I enjoyed watching her kick ass all the way through the beginning of this anime.

Re-l Mayer is a no-nonsense investigator in a dark, depleted futuristic world, who looks down on society. In the story of Ergo Proxy she must put her pride and way of life aside to find answers and explore the reality she lives in, fighting both the government, her grandfather, her emotions, and even her relationships, to satisfy her curiosity. She's good with a gun and has some serious gothic style. Re-l is definitely one of the coolest female characters I've seen.

As far as children in anime are, they tend to be nosy and noisy, easily irritated, in the majority of times messing and complicating thins and situations, meanwhile not delivering much in terms of story. And then there is Rin. The connection between Daikichi and Rin is the focal point of the story, however it is Rin's brightness, for a kid too mature character and her constant optimism which creates the magical heartwarming tone of the show. Be prepared to get your soul melted and your smile to not ever leave your face when she is on the stage. Suggested by Scalpelexis

Perfect. She may seem like the typical badass soldier character at first - but then you realize that that's what makes her so great. She's not extremely special or wonder woman, she's just a soldier that's good at her job and looks cool doing it. She's also very handy if you need someone good with a gun, which not many people in this series are.

Robin has always stood out in the One Piece crew as one of the most complex characters with the darkest past. She was first introduced as a villain, and I kinda hated her because she looked like another crazy fanservicey sort. Yet, she evolved HUGELY during water 7 and became an amazing character. I won't spoil anything, but definitely stands out as far as females go in anime.

She doesn't want to make a slideshow, she wants to make ANIME! The Eizouken's resident passionate animator with an eye for detail really makes the show her own. One of the most relatable female characters in anime for me.

I mean... wow. She's so cooooool! Yeah, she is a tiny bit sexualized every once in a while but only for gintama-style comic relief for sure. She's almost too good of a character for this show.
