The Severing Crime Edge

Apr 11, 2016

Good anime but uh...I feel like there was supposed to be more. There are even a bunch of random clips at the end of the last episode suggesting a second season but um...it's been a few years and no news of a second season. Still I found it rather enjoyable and exciting. The story starts out in a creepy way with a guy who seems to have a very creepy hair fetish. It was seriously messed up. Soon it's apparent that he isn't that creepy. He sort of has a thing for cutting hair but I'm not entirely sure it counts as a fetish.  Anyway, the story has some slow moments and the end felt more like a middle... See full review

Kimi ni Todoke - From Me To You 2nd Season: A Crush

Apr 5, 2016

Simply put, this episode is nothing more than a retelling of events focusing on events which included Kurumi or that were observed by Kurumi. It's told sort of from her point of view adding a few little tidbits, but everything is pretty much the same. It's basically a pointless episode summarizing the events of season one, despite the fact they had an episode like that toward the end of the first season. In other words, unless you want a few extra sentences or a brief overview from the eyes of Kurumi, there is no point in watching this. Therefore I give it a .5. I still have to give some points to the... See full review

Kimi ni Todoke - From Me To You

Apr 5, 2016

Review for both seasons. Another romance anime with terrible pacing. By the time you get to the second season you might start feeling like ripping out your hair, yelling at the screen, punching the screen, or feel like you are enduring some mild form of torture. If you do, well I warned you.  The story and characters develop rather quickly in the beginning. That seems to be a bad sign when it comes to romance anime. After that, it drags on episode after episode without going anywhere. Perhaps that isn't entirely accurate. Occasionally the relationships between characters progress but five seconds... Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!

Apr 3, 2016

This review is for both seasons. Why I actually watched both seasons I'm not sure. I guess the first season had a decent enough ending I thought the second season would be better. This is just my opinion and I am sure many would disagree, but I didn't like this anime much at all. The only decent part was the ending of the first season. Sure, I laughed once or twice, but I'm not sure if I laughed because it was funny or laughe because it was just so silly. No this isn't the worst anime I have ever seen. It wasn't painful to watch and it's a better love story than twilight (I say that way too much in my... See full review

ERASED

Mar 28, 2016

9.5 out of 10. Honestly, I expected this anime to be good after watching the first three episodes, of course I excpeted that from several anime this season and found myself really disappointed, but this one really was good. For twelve episodes, the story managed a lot without feeling rushed or lacking. Normally there is plenty for me to rant about when it comes to short animes....this one isn't giving me much to rant about at all. There were quite a few characters, but it never felt messy or confusing and it didn't feel like any of them were underdeveloped. The story covered a decently large time period... See full review

Divine Gate

Mar 28, 2016

I had hoped this anime would be good, but it fell short, really short. Although a bit complex for a 12 episode anime, the beginning caught my interest. I really liked the main character. There were plenty of things that didn't make much sense but I figured they would late. Long story short- I can say the same about this anime as I've said about a hundered other short animes, don't try to put a complex setting with complex characters and a complex story into a tiny anime!!!! It doesn't work. It isn't going to work.  Honestly, I can't say I'm surprised. I didn't notice it before, but it's from Studio... See full review

Prince of Stride: Alternative

Mar 27, 2016

I'm not big on sports anime usually, but I thought this one was really good. It almost makes me want to try others too. The animation is bright and lively, the characters aren't stereotypical in my opinion, the setting is common but the game is unique, and the music wrapped it up nicely. The story wasn't so unique, but then, it's a sports anime, there is a limited number of paths it can take so I don't think that is really important, rather how the path is taken is important. Story- As usual, I am not going to sumarize it here because there are plenty of other summaries you can read. One thing I liked... See full review

Clannad After Story

Mar 25, 2016

After reading reviews about this season, when I began watching it, I felt like I had been lied to or something. The first 10 episodes or somewhere around there really aren't all that. It skips time almost as bad as SAO, although it's a far better story still. There isn't much that really happens. The first couple of episodes are described in the summary on this site, but other than that, there really just isn't much going on. On the other hand, once things start happening, it gets really intense and interesting. Honestly, I don't think this anime is deserving of such a good ranking as it has. While the... See full review

C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

Mar 11, 2016

Before I start my usual rant that tends to pop up in my reviews of short animes, let me just say I enjoyed this anime.  Now on to everything else. This anime isn't even 12 or 13 episodes...it's 11. I don't think I have ever seen an eleven episode anime that wasn't rushed or left without an ending and this is no exception. Hec, it's rare for 12 or 13 episode animes to not have those problems. This anime has a lot of explanations, most of which deal with economics and this "other world" called the Financial District. A lot tends to be explained at a time and quickly too. It's probably best to... See full review

Beelzebub

Mar 8, 2016

I thought it was rather stupid at first but it turned out to be really good all things considered. The last ten episodes were like filler episodes and were a bit annoying though. I was expecting more. Anyway, the fights are enjoyable, and there are a lot of fights. It's a school full of crazy delinquents which is oddly enjoyable. Well, you know they say every girl likes a bad boy or something like that. It's funny too. I got some good laughs out of it. I prefered the episodes before the school got destroyed though.  The fights and the idiotic delinquents are probably the best part of the show. It has... See full review

World Trigger

Mar 4, 2016

I will write a longer review when it's finished, but for right now, I want to say this anime is AWESOME. There aren't many animes with more than 50 episodes that are actually good enough to deserve so many episodes but this one does and I won't mind if they make another 60 or a 100 more episodes. There was only one real filler episode so far which I mostly skipped, but otherwise, it's great. The main character isn't exceptional at anything except perhaps being stubborn and determined to try to help anyone in need. His companions on the other hand are very exceptional. While I don't care for main characters... See full review

My Bride is a Mermaid

Feb 28, 2016

It's almost too ridiculous to watch, but I have a thing about finishing animes once I've watched three episodes unless it's just terrible and completely untolerable. This one was almost untolerable but not enough to quit, even if it was giving me a head ache from the constant yelling. The first 14 or 15 episodes are illogical, idiotic, and ridiculous......even for a crazy comedy. It's too much. After that, it gets a little better. There is less yelling and it tones the insanity down a bit. It even pulls out a couple decent moments and funny scenes. The end is decent too for the most part. However most of... See full review

Shounen Onmyouji

Feb 28, 2016

The beginning does not inspire confidence, but it gets better. At least this one has an actual ending unlike so many others.  The story took a while to start growing on me. It felt like the characters and scenarios could have been further developed to make an even better story, but overall it was fine. Of course, if I had my way, most anime would be 50 to 100 episodes long with few to no filler episodes. That won't happen.  One thing I liked is the main character does actually fave consequences for actions such as injuries and things. Many animes barely have consequences for situations so it's... Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero

Feb 26, 2016

Not as bad as I expected it to be, but it's obvious there should have been more and never was. The ending obviously isn't really the ending because a lot of things still need to be explained and they still haven't wrapped things up. In fact, they are setting off on the next part of their adventure at the end of the last episode. That certainly costs it a lot of points in my book. The story isn't too bad if you can ignore the cameras focus on unnecessary things and the large amount of fanservice. A lot of nakedness and stealing underwear in this show. The concept is interesting, but it's too short and too... See full review

Highschool of the Dead

Feb 23, 2016

So someone wasn't sure whether they wanted to make anime porn or an anime horror...and thus we have Highschool of the dead. Okay, it's not THAT bad, but for a horror, there sure are a lot of panty shots, wet shirts, and giant boobs on display. Besides that, the storyline is anything but original. It follows the same basic formula that just about every zombie move or tv show uses and it doesn't even try to get creative with it. The last two episodes do get a bit more creative and interesting. I haven't seen too many zombie movies with H.A.N.E. and if you don't know what that means, it's a type of explosion... See full review

Sankarea OVA

Jan 28, 2016

The Ova begins seven months prior to the two main characters meeting. Personally, I was hoping the story would pick up from the last episode of the series where she bites him but no. I guess the series was never that great with continuity and doing things in order so it's not surprising. Instead the first episode begins with Sankarea having her pictures taken by her disgusting father and Chihiro going on vacation with his family to sort some books. It shows how Chihiro came across the book to create a zombie. The second episode takes place sometime after Rea starts going to school again and is mostly a... See full review

Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash

Jan 25, 2016

My original review is at the bottom that reviewed the first two episodes. This is my review after. Honestly, when I saw the MMORPG tag for this anime I thought great another anime with no real emotion or consequences or details or anything. Well, I'm not entirely sure they are even in a game to be honest. It's never really mentioned. As far as animes in an rpg game setting or rpg like setting, this is certainly the best. If you usually like animes set in a game world, then you might not like this one as much because it's so different, but if you usually dislike animes set in a game world, you might actually... Myriad Colors Phantom World

Jan 24, 2016

This was another anime I just clicked on for some background noise to only pay half attention to and just like the last one I did that with, I ended up actually paying attention and getting in to it a bit.  My first impression from the picture was "girl with big boobs right up front, that doesn't seem promising....". That usually isn't the best sign, plus all the bright colors made me doubt it even more. Then the first episode started and well, I'm a psychology major and it was talking about the brain and perception and all that and I ended up actually watching all three episodes currently... Jan 23, 2016

Original review is below. New Review After finishing it I decided, it's not good. It had an interesting start, but it did end up being a short anime and the story just didn't fit well. There were too many things crammed in and it didn't really make sense. A lot of animes this season seemed promising and most ended up disappointing. I don't reccomment bothering with this. The ending is too far out too. Original Review I just sort of stumbled on to this anime with no real expectations and absolutely no clue what I watching (since neither this site nor the site I was watching it on gave an... Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters

Jan 21, 2016

I am scoring this based on it being for children and being a childrens anime, not as a anime for all ages or anime in general! Okay, so I know I watched at least some of this because I recognize the story but I don't recall watching over 200 episodes. When I rewatched I watched 40 episodes but that doesn't make any sense either. Anyway, I will just put my review here. I Liked Yu-gi-oh when I was young, and I still say it's better than Pokemon. I quite after the main character was no longer Yugi though and the new stuff is no good to me. Rewatching it now, I find it slightly annoying. Heart of the... See full review

I don't know why there is only one review for this so far but I'll add my two cents. Lame vampires (still better than Twilight though). This includes my review for season 1 & 2 I wasn’t sure about this anime and waited until it was dubbed before trying it. Then I watched the first episode and just had to start writing the review right after. You want my attention, you got it. The first episode pulls you in immediately from the very beginning. Attack on Titan: Junior High

Jan 17, 2016

At first I thought this could be interesting and maybe a little funny. I watched several episodes until finally deciding I wasn't interested.  1. It is totally ridiculous 2. It's a nice idea and kind of funny but als boring and predictable 3. I probably would have quit the show sooner except there was so little to watch the fall season I was willing to try anything that seemed even slightly okay. 4. I couldn't get over the titans wanting lunches and kids being so uptight about losing their lunch. It just seems to ridiculous.  5. The contrast between the original story and this parody of it... Dance with Devils

Jan 17, 2016

Decent story but the singing could have been left out. When I originally read the summary of it before it came out, I liked the concept. When I found out there was singing, I was far less impressed. It's an interesting idea. Half anime Half musical. I hate musicals.  It is kind of one of those weird animes trying to be different from everything else and experimenting with odd ideas. Well it is different, but different doesn't mean better. I felt the songs weren't very important and came in at odd times. It didn't flow and it needs to flow. I didn't watch this anime until I was desperate for a good anime and willing to try almost anything. Why? The reviews haven't been that good for this anime. Well, I wish I had tried it sooner. I SAY WATCH IT! It should have been longer. While I enjoyed it, so much more could have been done if it had been 26 episodes instead of 13. Story- The old capitol, as it is refered to, is now mostly abandoned. An accident involving the power company and a nuclear plant (I think), and back end companies using it as a dumping ground afterwards, contaminated the entire city making it nearly impossible to live in. The Legend of the Legendary Heroes

Dec 9, 2015

Before I start, I want to point out that no matter how good an anime is, if it isn't finished, I won't give it it a high score. Depending on how "finished" it felt determines how many points I take off because I really do not like stories with no ending. In this case, I am taking away two points. The score will not be above 8.  While the story was sort of interesting, it was not well put together. To start with, the beginning confused me, probably because I wasn't really sure about the characters from the first episode so when they showed up differently in the second one, I had no idea where... Blood Blockade Battlefront

Dec 5, 2015

I can't say I really enjoyed this anime. The concept was good and the characters were decently interesting and I did like the little monkey and it was certainly better than listening to the drunken idiots across the street.......It isn't labeled episodic, but it felt episodic which is something I tend to dislike. This made the story feel choppy and like there were holes. This is also a 12 episode anime and like many other 12 or 13 episode anime, it feels somewhat rushed.  There are times when it feels like the story opens up a can of worms and doesn't bother to clean up the mess. Claymore

Nov 13, 2015

Note: I will write a longer review later. The music. No. Just no. I usually don't pay much attention to the music in anime. I usually skip the opening and endings (unless I actually like them) and the rest of the music usually blends into what is going on so smoothly that I don't notice it much. This is not the case with Claymore. I noticed it, and it wasn't because it was excellant. Many times I found myself thinking "what the hell were they thinking when choosing music? This doesn't fit the situation, the setting, or anything else!" The music does not blend into the scene but instead sticks... See full review

Corpse Princess: Aka

Nov 13, 2015

This is a short review for both seasons.  On one hand I stayed up late to finish the first season in one night and start the second season. On the other hand, I spent a lot of time playing a matching game while listening to the episodes. I don't know how to interpret this. It was interesting enough that I always wanted to know what would happen next, but not so interesting that my eyes were glued to the screen. Perhaps the animation just wasn't all that interesting or necessary while the story being told was, or maybe it was just my ADHD. Anything is possible. The animation itself is what I consider... PSYCHO-PASS 2

Oct 24, 2015

It's too short!!!! The first season was 22 episodes. It's true that the first season had to introduce ALL the characters and the setting as well as explain things, so it makes sense that it would be long (although I don't consider 22 episodes a long season or even close). The second season still had to introduce characters though because they got rid of at least half the characters in the first season! Unfortunately one of the characters no longer present is Kougami too. Anyway, my point is, this season was too short. Some parts of the story felt rushed too. The end didn't wrap up as neatly either. We never... See full review
