Sadly, this is not one of the better animes this summer. The characters are odd and not easily likable, it's not written or directed well, the voice for one of the supposed main characters is weird, speaking of which, I'm not entirely sure who the main character is, and the animation is weird and kind of turned me off.

The first character could almost be decent, except it's a guy with the most girlish guys voice ever who is awkward and weird and has no interest in anything until he is framed for a crime. The class rep who sticks by him the whole time is a half way decent character, but he isn't the focus. The high school age special detective isn't exactly original and neither is the guys personality. Not to mention, it's five episodes in and we don't really know any more about the characters than we did at episode one. Character development is lacking.

The animation doesn't help matters. Often times characters are just these silver human shapes especially if they aren't important. At least the blood isn't super fake looking like some animes, but between the beginning of the story and the animation style, I found my self distracted playing games on my phone quite often instead of actually watching. Eventually something interesting would happen for a few minutes every episode, but it never lasted very long. 

The opening song was rather annoying at first. Then it went back and forth between annoying and slightly catchy. The boys voice is way to girly. I mean there is this whole thing about he can pass for a girl and people think he is a girl (which is about as unoriginal as it gets people) but the voice is still too girlish. I'm just waiting for it to turn out he is a she.

Finally the story. There is no mystery. The mystery is solved before you even have half a clue what is going on and they don't solve it in very interesting ways either. There isn't enough action to actually say it has action good or bad. There isn't really any drama or romance or thrill or horror or anything. There just isn't really a story. Did it ever have much potential? No, not very much and it sure didn't make use of what little it did have. I'm afraid this one isn't worth your valuable summer vacation hours...or any other hours.
