Girls' Last Tour

Apr 22, 2021

I am writing this review after months of watching the anime because it was painful for me to remember the story and our POTATOES. But I feel this deserves a lot more love and recognition.

** Do not compare this with YURU CAMP or any other similar anime/manga**

I feel the reason this anime doesn't have as good a rating as it deserves is that many try to compare this with YURU CAMP (Which I absolutely love too). But that's just wrong. It's like comparing Baseball to Fishing.

At first, it might seem similar, cute girls doing cute things but the underlying message is soooooo different!!

It rarely happens that I wish for a happy life for someone in an anime/manga, because the characters are fictional. But here I genuinely wished that for that. The characters, art, and music in this are just amazing!! It slowly burns into your mind, the fact that the world is ending, and there's nothing you can do about it but to live on to the best of your abilities. Throughout the anime, I felt happy, giggled at their adventure but as the story progressed my heart became heavier and heavier. This anime leaves you with a desire, that you wish for the characters to have lived and born in a world where mankind hadn't destroyed everything. I really wished that they went to school, have friends and family, and lived a normal life. But it is not possible because the world no longer has any of it.

The post-apocalypse theme of this anime is so well executed that I've no words for it. The art and music complement it perfectly. It shows how some things are inevitable and in the face of it, you can't do anything but live on.  Anyone planning to watch this should definitely go ahead and watch it. This is a gem!!!

10/10 story
10/10 animation
10/10 sound
10/10 characters
10/10 overall
