When I started watching anime, I had no idea it was even called anime.
I started watching on Toonami, when the show would run episodes of Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, Gundam Wing, and Tenchi Muyo (RIP forever Tom, you will be missed). I fell in love with these shows, and how the "cartoons" had an actual plot line, not just some mindless running around for 30 minutes to make you drool, and then on to the next one. I didn't know what I was watching, until I met my friend Myste (AppliedAlgebra), who then introduced me to it not being just a simple cartoon, but an art that is highly appreciated in Japan.
As I got older, anime sort of took a backseat to my gaming passion. The two hobbies were expensive together, so I chose gaming as my number one. Lately, I've felt the itch come back, and with the help of streaming services more readily carrying shows for me to watch, decided I would look to getting back into it once again.
