Which party?

Tinytox Nov 23, 2018

Just wanted to make sure you saw my last long post. (I posted twice in a row)

I like the idea and am totally cool with it if you are interested. There's no particular restrictions or expectations, we can do it whenever you feel you have time, and you can take as long as you need to get through the episodes. If you want to pick one, feel free to throw it out whenever!

Hope you had a good thanksgiving!

That comment was months ago so this is my response:

I completely agree with you.As the judgement part,I’m on either side of the coin,or even the combination of the both.

When it comes to bland characters,I tend to ignore them. They are too bland to even hate, unless we are talking about the characters in SAO,which is one good example. For example,I hate Kirito not only he’s bland,he’s a Gary Stu who gets all the girls and even a self-insert of young boys.In Yui’s case, she’s the one who waters down the anime’s quality after she made her debut, not helped by the fact that she’s a boring plot device.

Theres another example on why I hate Orihime Inoue from Bleach:Combination of poor writing and subtext.Read my two reviews in August and October on her page and know why.

Sorry if I went on an tangent.

I still agree with big part of your comment, and I prefer Ruler over her anyways.

Jeez my last comment was a short novel. Let me know if I need to tone these down some..

We could do a little anime exchange sometime, where we trade shows, if you're interested? Pick some of our favorites and have each other watch them! maybe just limit it to a few episodes in-case either of us end up hating the show.

I agree, definitely. People will argue that Overlord is good because it is not about the main characters struggle to be the strongest in that world, he's unquestionably the strongest by a wide margin, at least that's what the anime reveals thus far. It's supposed to be his struggle to be a leader when he has little to no leader qualities. I think it's all kind of pointless to qibble over like most people do. Either you're okay with overpowered characters or your not. Either you're into the Isekai subgenre or you're not. I have always been way into video games and technology, and have always used it as an escape. A full-dive experience would eat away so much of my free time it isn't even funny.. I'd spend all my time in it. It's an escape for me already, and the idea of it being real is amazing to me. VR cannot even come close to capturing the same experience portrayed, of course.

I think people who like Yuno feel emphatically alone, at least that's part of it for me. A woman who would be that forward about their interest in said persons would of course be appealing; Yuno is obviously unreasonably unreleastic and would not make a good girlfriend, it's just a matter of the dedication she shows. I can say this is at least part of my interest in her. She's obviously entertaining if you remove the romantic interest. I think most people who like her know she would not be good wife material, but it's acceptable and forgivable as waifu meterial. You're right that she is not relatable, but I think the main character is relatable, and since Yuno is so ridiculous, in some aspects, she is more of a thing that happens to Yukiteru. I really enjoy the show as a whole, and I love how it flies off the rails near the end. Berserk is awesome so far, but the 97 and 2016 releases are very different from what I've seen so far. I definitely don't love the CGI, but it's honestly done pretty well for as CGI heavy as it is. I can get behind using critics for interest in a show, but definitely think their tastes and "objective" views on them are often a bit.. out there.

I liked the passion in Attack on Titan, but I can see why some would not love it. I enjoyed it still, and few shounens can get me as excited as AoT, though. The visuals and music are definitely top notch in my opinion, and while I have some complaints about the series (What's in the damn basement? We've waited several seasons for that info..), I think the show as a whole is pretty good. I can only see Mikasa as a badass, why do you dislike her? I assume it's just because she's unreasonably overpowered, and possbly a dislike of her personality. I think the side characters are just set up to be knocked down, which is a bit lame, but I guess if they want it to be edgy, they have to kill people off here and there.

I think it makes sense for men to be more stoic and beefy than women, generally speaking, but that doesn't mean that they can't also just be individuals with feelings, definitely. I think there is definitely a happy medium though, and it seems like it is a difficult target for most guys to land in. I get that people will be different, but I think there's very little merit in being a roid head or a complete pushover.

I'll try to tread lightly while explaining my stance on Feminism, I of course agree with equality. Men and Women should be treated equally to every extent within reason. Men and Women are intrinsically different. There's a lot of misconception on both sides, and nobody really knows the truth on the matter, myself included. I dislike a lot of feminists with a burning passion. As you said, the prejudice goes both ways. Big feminists typically represent all that I disapprove of in feminism. People like Anita Sarkeesian and "Big Red" I just can't undestand for the life of me. I know this has gotten its own bad wrap for some reason, but "Equalitarianism" is really a better term. The notion that everyone should be treated equally without descrimination of race, gender, religion, weight, age, and more. I understand several complaints people have with this, but I think feminism movements have devolved into a stupid whining contest these days. I enjoy youtubers like ShoeOnHead and Thunderf00t, because I think they are rooted in reality. I've heard them agree with feminist points and disagree with anti-feminism points. I feel like they go over content fairly objectively in most cases. I'd be happy to talk about it more with you if you're interested, but don't want to bother you with it too much if we disagree greatly and I'm stepping on your toes with it at all. Half the reason I don't like discussing it in general, is that a lot of the Feminist Activist Group feels extremely strongly and responds to any disagreement unreasonably strongly and with a distinct lack of candor. Enoguh on that, for now, though!

I liked Evangelion, but a lot of my love for it was that Eva rejuvinated the anime business and community at a time where it was falling off, for that I will be forever grateful. I liked the show well enough, though, too. I prefered Asuka for much of the show, I liked Rei quite a lot as well, but I always felt she didn't get enough screen time for me to truly like her as a character. Asuka I liked as a character, and disliked simultaniously. It sounds like you haven't seen it yet. I had a paragraph all typed out, but don't want to spoil anything for you, so if you do watch it, we can talk about afterwards! Just make sure you also see the redacted "true ending".. "The end of Evangelion". Just a side note, Evangelion is only sort of a mecha. If you don't already know, watch it and you'll see what I mean!

HxH is a complicated one to pick a favorite. It's really fun to see Gon turn into a badass later on, in my opinon, though. Killua was awesome, too. Leorio is.. kinda lame, he comes through here and there though, but he's really meant as a support I think. Kurapika was awesome, just awesome. I wish I had more to say, but he's just a badass, feel like I'd potentially spoil things if I said more, though. Favorite character.. Hm... It might just be one of the villains near the end of the series run, Meruem. He's one of the most complicated villains I've ever seen, if not the most complex one, which made his arc realy enjoyable to watch. I'd definitely recommend it if you have time, but understand if you feel you don't. I thought the show was pretty solid as a whole, though, not a ton of filler garbage like some of the other long-running series.

Did you see FMA as well as FMA:B? If so, who was your favorite protagonist and antagonist? Any specific parts of the show that you loved or hated more than others? It's not among my favorite shows, even though I did quite like them, but it's one that's really easy to talk about!
