Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. The art perfectly cultivates the mood in each scene. This and the music combined add an aura to every moment. watching this anime is like reading an animated manga. There are familiar boxes as you might see with perfect color and animation.

Scum's Wish is a romance type anime where two characters suffer from the feeling of unrequited love. These two decide to "date" so that they may fill the void in each other by pretending to be with the person they desire. This plot might remind you of the popular anime known as Toradora, but don't be fooled because it is much more intricate.

From the synopsis alone we expect to see these two people fall in love, but soon after watching you find that that's not the case. There are multiple intertwining romances that we get to see in one anime alone. I find this unique because typically there is one main romance and possibly a side plot, but with Scum's Wish we experience many different relationships with unique conditions.

Scum's Wish explores the darker sides of love. It shows how love makes a person go crazy. It shows how you could love someone if they were the worst person ever and it shows us that not every romance works and you have to let go sometime.

My Opinion and Side Thoughts

Warning the rest of this passage contains spoilers that deal mainly with the plot.

In scum's wish I was shocked to see that there was a dark side to the teacher Akane. I honestly thought she was a good hearted person and that Hanabi simply hated her because she was infatuated with Kanai, her crush. I think this was a good decision though because it opened up new possibilities in the progression of the story.

Speaking of story, I'm disappointed. The plot is marvelous, but it upsets me slightly because the whole story shifts completely by episode 9/10. Rather than Mugi and Hanabi being the center of attention, this anime focuses majorly on Akane and Kanai and Akane and Mugi. I'm in support of Hanabi and Mugi and I hope they end up together in the end as episodes of this anime are still coming out.
