Nygenn says... My time here on Anime-Planet has been alright. Ever since I joined the site I have been unable to make a forum account because the system remains down so other than just ticking off anime and manga I've seen there really is little else to do here.

NOTE: One of the big areas of community here, the Forum, is currently closed to new registrations because the site's creator is going to change the format of the Forum and merge it with the site, so Users will no longer need a separate ID to log in there. It is expected to be closed for another month or two...

I love this site! I find my Anime List here invaluable to help me keep note of my progress for anime I am currently watching (keeping track of which episode I am on, since I'm often in the middle of LOTS of different titles) and for noting new titles that interest me that I don't want to forget about and want to remember to check out in the future. Then I created my current ratings system, and now even my "watched" anime on my list has great meaning for me, since my ratings now are meaningful and significant to me and often help clarify my memories of a show and help me to remember just how I felt when I was watching it.

It is so much more than just "ticking off anime and manga that I've seen"!
\r\n
And besides my anime list being here, I will OFTEN utilize the site's recommendation database - after all, that is how I found the site in the first place. This site always gives me good ideas of anime titles for me to watch.

It would be helpful (and something to do) if you also added reviews and recommendations here. Your opinions are important and can help someone decide to watch or not watch some show!

Not to mention the social aspect. There is a lively, friendly and fun community here, and I love the opportunity to talk with my fellow anime fans about a topic that is near and dear to my heart: anime! I often have comment conversations and get into some lively discussions here, outside the forum.

If you are at a loss because you don't yet know many people on the site to chat with, here's a suggestion: I run the A-P Welcoming Committee (aka WECO), and can tell you that all of my WECO Greeters are friendly people who don't mind chatting with other members on the site. I can give you a list of their names and links to their profile pages if you are seeking other folks to talk with.)
