Manga synopses would be great! We definitely have need of those, and definitely manga recommendations (only a few of us have been doing them). It's good to see you back, and feel free to send me the column stuff (there's a 'how to apply' thread in site announcements - it's different than the one you responded to already - which describes what you need to send).

Additionally, feel free to post a personal review in site format sometime (ie, with the sections we put into the official site reviews), as that tends to get the attention of the site reviewers and they might have good tips :) (in case site reviewing is something you achieve for at some point)

Hey gloria, long time no chat :)

Just wanted to see if you knew about the new personal reviews feature on the site? As you tend to write really great recs and your final impressions of a series (such as in the 'what i finished watching') I wanted to point out the feature to you in case you didn't know of it yet. ^_^ To add a personal review just go to any entry, click the 'reviews and discussion' tab, and there's a link to add your own review. They work like blogs so you can add pictures/video if you want too, and there are optional score fields. This feature is up for both manga/anime.

hope you're doing well and talk to you soon!

definately agree with you there on Tokyo magnitude, one of the only strong series of the last year imo. I did like K-ON though, certainly one of the better shows of the year too (like a new meloncholy of haruhi).

You can be rest assured that Shion no Ou doesn't rely on it's games for what makes it good. While they are one of the central plot points, a murder mystery and character development takes center stage.

Glad to hear it's closer to Lain, There hasn't been too many solid series lately in Japan, so hopefully this brings in a new wave ^^.

A new Lain style anime, sweet! Definately keeping it in mind.(I will say though, Haibane didn't entice me much, I don't know why, it just didn't work for me. So, could go either way).

I've heard about shadowstar but never seen/read it. I don't dislike manga, but because I do a show on anime, it's usually the only thing I have time for T-T. I'll check out the anime though, right now I'm watching Blue gender and Bartender, both of which are pretty good, so hopefully this one keeps up the quality ^^.

I noticed you don't have a rating for Simoun, (and actually for many series) any specific reason?

As for a reccomendation, well, you've seen most everything I love, but I didn't notice Shion no Ou on your list. I wouldn't say it's exactly your thing, but it's a really strong series, and the character development is strong. They play shogi (japanese chess) in the series, but it's really about the characters, and you can enjoy it with no knowledge of shogi (this is the same for most series I find, such as hikaru no go, saki, or akagi too).
