Freezing

Apr 14, 2011

Alright, before you start yelling on me and slapping on my front door about how the overall doesn't match the actual average of the scores, of course it doesn't, wise-ass. I use it as a way to measure my own personal enjoyment, rather than the actual average. If you wanna know so bad, whip out a calculator, geez. Story: (7/10) The story had a cool premise. No, scratch that(just did). It had an AWESOME premise. Now, the actual execution? Not so awesome. Freezing follows a teenage boy named Aoi Kazuya who enrolls in a school for these girls who have special powers because of compatibility with power nodes... See full review

Candy Boy

Mar 12, 2011

Just a quick note, I watched this a while back, so the info may be a tad hazy... Story: (6.5/10) Alright, Candy Boy is basically about two sisters who are in love with eachother and do essentially nothing but talk for seven 12-15 minute segments. Sure, they have a little sister that drops in, and a vertically-challenged stalker girl follows around one of the sisters the entire show. Honestly it wasn't terrible, but it was essentially Lucky Star except with some form of moral value to it and between two lesbian sisters, a stalker, and their younger sister. So yeah, it's not for everyone, but some people... See full review

Lucky Star

Mar 5, 2011

Story: (2/10) ... huh...? There was a story to this...? Not really, no. It's just "watch 4 girls and creepy acquaintences and siblings as they roll around and talk about menial crap." Yep, that about sums up the story and my opinion on it. Damn I'm good.   Animation: (7/10) Cute. Appropriate. I personally liked it, but after a while the backgrounds were rather dull and I got sick of seeing the same characters standing in the same positions for 20 minutes at a time. Decent? Yeah. Great? Not really. Sound: (4/10) All four points are for the OP. Super addicting. The rest? Voice actors are... See full review

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

Jan 8, 2011

WARNING: The following review is simply an opinion, not a declarative fact. Story: (8/10) Not very complicated. Just about a little kid and his older sister who get into a large earthquake in Tokyo. After that the show hurtles several happy and sad moments, and effectively at that. But the issue with show is that maybe half of it is just them walking around saying several variations of "Do you think ________ is ok?" But other than that the story is jam-packed with powerful moments, so I only deducted 1.5 from an otherwise perfect story. Animation: (9/10) Brilliant. The backgrounds were... See full review

Paranoia Agent

Jan 8, 2011

Phew... Story: (9/10) This show's about... you know what, you probably read the synopsis and my description probably wouldn't serve to do anything more than it did. But whatever the case, I'll lay it out quicky: It's about a kid on rollerblades dubbed "Shounen Bat" who goes around with a golden bat hitting emotionally disturbed or depressed people. The rest of the story follows several people in their struggles, the investigation of Shounen Bat and his attacks, and ethics in general. Let me start off by saying this: upon completion of this anime, I understood the MAIN plotline, how it... See full review

GANTZ

Jan 3, 2011

I'm sure if you've read any other reviews on GANTZ you know that people's opinions on this show are mixed.... and they have every reason to be. Story: (9.5/10) The story of GANTZ revolves around a high school boy named Kei who generally has a cynical outlook on life. One day, a homeless man falls onto the subway tracks. Kei's old friend, Katou, decides to help. Being obliged to help through an old friendship, he jumps down along with him. Let's just say they saved the bum, but... they weren't so lucky. That's when the epic survival game of GANTZ begins. It's hard to say whether the story will appeal to... See full review

Toradora!

Jan 3, 2011

This is about a dude named Ryuuji who has "scary eyes" and is therefore believed to be a "delinquent" by the other people in his high school class. He then meets Taiga, or "The Palmtop Tiger", and after much one-sided kindness on Ryuuji's part they call a truce to help eachother get with their crushes. Much madness ensues :L Story: (9/10) Although the premise isn't the most original thing ever, it's done so well it deserves no lower than a 9. They worked with the character's real feelings and how they were hiding it really well, leaving you ever curious about what'll happen... See full review

School Rumble

Dec 31, 2010

WARNING: The following review is simply an opinion, not a declarative fact or anything of the sort. Story: (7/10) In School Rumble's case, it's better to call it a plot. You see, a story sounds as though it'll play out like a book, but it doesn't really. It's strange in that it's kind of episodic but at the same time the "story" flows from one episode to the next. Essentially, it's just a girl who has a crush on a bowl-cut kid for NO real reason. There's really nothing spectacular about him(although he can ride a bkie damn fast), which is what confused me. But then there's Harima(my favorite... See full review

Eureka Seven

Dec 26, 2010

This show, although dubbed as a mecha, is much more largely a romance/sci-fi. I'm personally not a fan of mecha, but like Code Geass, I still enjoyed this thoroughly. Story: (8.75/10) Eureka Seven's story follows a 14 year old boy (Hollah!) named Renton, who is bored with his life and the town he lives in. With both of his parents deceased and his sister missing, he now spends all his time with his grandpa moving LFO's(mech's) in his workshop. One day, however, a strange girl lands in town on a giant robot, know as the typeZERO(or the Nirvash). Renton then proceeds to join the crew of the Rebellion... See full review

Blood+

Dec 26, 2010

Guys, I'm gonna be honest here... I PERSONALLY didn't enjoy this show. The only reason I gave it a bunch of above average ratings was because I can see why they're good, I simply didn't enjoy the show as a whole... so expect some bias. Story: (8.5/10) I will give them credit, it goes somewhat further than most vampire shows. This story follows a girl named Saya, with a mysterious (and admittedly gory) past. She has no memories of her real parents, and is staying with her foster family: George, Kai, and Riku. But, when the military steps in and takes Saya so she can go fight vampire monsters known as... Psychic Detective Yakumo

Dec 24, 2010

This show is about a high school student named Yakumo who has the ability to see spirits with his left red eye and sometimes communicate with them(not a super original premise, but highly entertaining nontheless). He spends his spare time tricking kids out of their money with fake card tricks, or just sleeping about. But, once in a while, he'll take a spirit associated police case that has piqued his interest. But with his troubled family past and issues with humanity, will Yakumo ever be able to live a normal life? Story: (9/10) While not an entirely original premise, they definitely utilized it to... Koe de Oshigoto! The Animation

Dec 24, 2010

Ok, before you you wander into this fucked up little creation known as Koe de Oshigoto! The Animation, know that this is essentially and by all means of what I've heard is hentai, actually depicting sexual intercourse and the like. Story: (3/10) This is essentially hentai with story smothered all over it. Not equally smothered either, more smothered like a mother to an unwanted baby or something along those lines. It's about some girl (didn't care to remember her name, seeing as it hardly matters) who, out of some distorted sense of duty, feels it necessary to assist her older sister in the voice acting... The World God Only Knows

Dec 23, 2010

This show is all but ordinary; a truly unique watch, as you'll soon find out. Story: (9/10) While I can't say that the story was the most gripping thing I've ever seen, it was definitely interesting and in many ways original. It's about a young high schooler named Keima Katsuragi who has an unhealthy obsession with dating sims. He is one day sent a mysterious message on his PFP asking him to "conquer" girls. He accepts, believing it to be in relation to games, when in reality it is a very serious call for help from the little demon, Elsie(it's been spelled differently, though). Apparently he... Dec 22, 2010

No exaggeration here. Literally, there were no flaws with this movie. I'm not one of those people who simply thinks, "I reellly liekd teh storiie, so evrytin gats a 10/10 woohoo." Literally, each individual factor of this movie deserved a 10. With no detectable flaws whatsoever, I can safely say this is the first time I've ever given any form a media a perfect 10/10. Really, go watch this. NOW.

Yosuga no Sora: In Solitude, Where We Are Least Alone

Dec 21, 2010

This show shouldn't exist. I can't really think of anyone who could like it(might be spoilers in the review, but I guess you shouldn't watch this show anyway). Story: (2/10) I can hardly say there's a story to speak of. It's about some guy and his twin sister who move to a small town after their parents died, where they went for summer when they were younger. There he meets old friends and... well... that's about it. Really all that ends up happening is that he starts dating one, has sex with her for a while, then tosses her away without even breaking up for the next closest girl in his vicinity. What... MM!

Dec 21, 2010

This show, at a base level, is good. I really can't actually find any major flaws, so I guess that's a good thing...? Story: (8/10) I will admit, the story isn't a super in-depth adventure or anything, but it's definitely unique. It's basically about a boy named Tarou who is a masochist(he gets sexual pleasure from being hurt by pretty girls). Since he doesn't want to be a masochist, he seeks the help of the Second Volunteer Group, led by Mio Isurugi(who is apparently a sadist, no diagnosis in the show though). Along with the help of Yuuno(the girl who is the cause of his masochism in the first place... See full review

Samurai Girls

Dec 20, 2010

This show is nothing special. Right off the bat, you need to know there is nothing ground-breaking or revolutionary about it, but it makes for a decent "love conquers all" time killer. Story: (7/10) Like I said, there isn't really anything special about this anime. It's really kind've cheesy, actually. It's about some dude named Muneakira Yagyu who finds a naked lady and kisses her, which is when he finds out that his kisses give people master samurai powers(blatant fan-service ftw?). The plot kinda pissed me off actually, because it was really just about an average guy fumbling around with a... See full review

Durarara!!

Dec 19, 2010

This anime was really entertaining. Just thought I'd get that out there so you know ahead of time what kind of review this is gonna be :) Story: (9/10) This story was very well-written, to say the least. It's about a boy name Ryuugamine Mikado(or backwards in english, I guess) who moves to the city of Ikebukuro, a large city filled with many strange groups and people. He moves there to go to the same school as his childhood friend, Masaomi Kida. There he meets a girl named Anri something or other, and the three becomes friends. Strawberry Panic

Dec 19, 2010

This show is... odd, to say the least. Story: (7.5/10) The story of this show isn't actually half bad. It's about this girl who moves to a catholic three-dorm school called something or other about strawberries. Anyway, she transfers in and, for whatever reason, falls in love with the most popular girl in school. You see, here's the problem with the realism to this show: EVERYBODY WHO GOES TO THIS SCHOOL IS INEXPLICABLY A LESBIAN. I mean, there's nothing wrong with lesbianity(I liekz itz, cuz im a creeper liek dat :D), but I just find it kinda hard to believe that every student is a lesbian without any... See full review

A Certain Magical Index

Dec 13, 2010

Whether or not you'll like this series is debatable. I personally love it, but after reading a couple of other reviews I heard some logical reasons why this show may not be for you, so I decided to edit the score a bit from my initial thought from a logical standpoint, making this review more accurate(hopefully). Story: (8/10) The story takes place in a city for the training of ability users, known as "Academy City". The story follows a teenage boy by the name of Kamijyou Touma(or Touma Kamijyou in the english version), who has a strange ability in his right hand to cancel all other supernatural... Highschool of the Dead

Dec 13, 2010

Alright, I need to only give a rough description in one compound word: zombies-gore-boobs-panties. Or, in a simpler word, FUCKING-EXCESSIVE. Don't misunderstand, this show had a solid plot, good characters and great animation, but the panty-flashes and boob jiggles were so unnecessarily prevalent it's not even funny. I'm not even kidding, at one point this girl's boobs jiggle their way AROUND an in-flight sniper bullet. That's not even excessive, that's just fucking impossible. But other than the fact that there is so much Ecchi-esque material in here that any girl you see in another anime series... See full review

Maid-sama!

Dec 11, 2010

Well, just so you guys know my standpoint from the start of this review, I saw this series as pointless drivel, but then again, this type of show isn't really my cup o' tea anyhow. Well, basically, this story is about a girl who is student council president, and also a maid in secret working part-time. Some guy finds out her secret, and then they fall in love because he hid her secret and such. Really... that's it... Although funny at times, this show is so hopelessly filled with menial bullshit that it's hard not to get bored after watching such gripping shows like Elfen Lied or Higurashi no... See full review

Dec 11, 2010

This show has my opinions so mixed it's not even funny(well maybe a little). I guess I'll start with saying that the show is enjoyable most of the time and the animation is pretty, not to mention the voice actors are pretty good as well. Here's my main issue though: Never have I wanted more to jump into an anime and yell "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!" This guy, the main character, is constantly trying to help his sister with her creepy-ass fetish for little sister eroge games. She claims it's just because the little sister is always "so cute :D".... But you've got to be shitting me... See full review

Fortune Arterial

Dec 9, 2010

Transfer student into island school, meets friends old and new, and hidden vampires = student council. That^ would be the plot synopsis of Fortune Arterial: Akai Yakusoku bunched up into an extremely abbreviated sentence. But to be honest, it goes kinda deeper than that, I'm just having my fun. STORY The story is essentially about a new transfer student going to an island boarding school, where he once lived for a short time. In that frame of time he made a couple of friends, with whom he meets up with when he returns at school. Although the story isn't absolutely marvelous, it goes pretty deep into... See full review

Megane na Kanojo

Dec 6, 2010

Well, upon completion of this OVA, I can say I was disappointed. Although basic things related to quality were nice, story and the like were very under-developed. The story is supposed to be of 4 seperate instances of falling in love(er sumthin). Now, I'm not a fan of this sort of thing, but at the very least when I watch it I'd like it to be good. They did a half-assed job with the 3/4 of the relationships, one of which can hardly even be called a "relationship" in the first place. If you expect plot or character development, you'll be pleased with the progress, then all of the sudden it's... See full review

Dec 5, 2010

Ok, before I start, I'd like to say 2 important things: 1: Although unintentional (well not really), you may learn more from this review than you'd like to if you haven't already watched this series. 2: The MAIN reason I created an account on this website was to express my disgust with this anime(especially the ending). You have been warned. Now, I'd just like to say that this anime was actually gripping, if anything. However, that doesn't make up for the fact that the latter half of the series destroys any chance of this being a satisfying experience. Although the chracters and plot DO get you to...
