Monogatari series is the best series ever...

Romance isn't the main focus of the Monogatari series but it's there. This one happens to have some serious romance also it's the starting point of Monogatari series. They start going out early in bakemonogatari and continues their relationship all the way. I've watched the entire series twice and enjoyed it a lot. Senjogahara Hitagi is the best girl.

If you want the ultimate closure then you'd have to watch the entire series all the way to Zokuowarimonogatari. You wouldn't regret it.

This is a masterpiece but I was debating whether to put this in this list or not because the romance didn't go anywhere but the female lead says I love you to the MC but he misinterpretes it with the moon because suki and tsuki sounds similar but even without the romance this is a must watch. My favorite anime movie of all time. A great tale of redemption and forgiveness.

Okay... Hear me out first. I know the romance is barely there but it's technically there and it's conclusive. That's enough of an excuse for me to add this masterpiece to this list. Seriously watch this anime. It's a classic for a reason.

You shouldn't watch this for the romance. Romance is barely there but it's there and ends very nicely. You should watch this anime for the main story. One of the best shounen anime i've ever watched. Don't skip anything in the last episode.

One of the best romance I've ever seen. You might even get into the series after watching this. Both this and the series are highly recommended if you like historical anime with romance on the side. I advise you to watch the series first (you only need to watch the first 62 episodes. the rest doesn't matter).

My second favorite ghibli movie. Right after princess mononoke. This anime gotta be the most underrated of ghibli anime.

I loved this anime. Main focus is about individual character development but romance is a big part of it. Watch the Kanketsu-hen OVAs for a complete and satisfying ending. Dont skip anything in the last episode.

Precursor to Horimiya.

Wholesome romance anime. The only downside is they added too many side characters with little to no developement and as a result the show felt like it was wasting time on characters that doesn't hold any significance.

This one is just too funny. I can't put it in words. Can't wait for the second season.

Edit: spoilers ahead just finished the second season it was as good as the first season if not better but no romantic development. Season 3 should have a confession according to the manga. I'm still keeping this here because it's such a good show. Just don't expect any romantic closure.

This is one of the very first anime I've watched and it's still one of my favorite. The romance builds up over time and the ending was great. If you want an even better ending then read the manga.

Really liked it. S1 was good but S2 was better than S1 and S3 was great. The charaters were great except a few. The romance really kicks in near the end but it was conclusive.

This is another anime that I was debating whether to put it in this list or not. It's romance and the character development is amazing but not in a romantic way. It's 'they are never supposed to be together' kinda anime. I really loved it you may not. Age gap done right.

This one is sad and very good at the same time.

I wasn't expecting quality romance when I started watching this show but I couldn't be more wrong. The story is about the past of a ghost (very cute ghost girl) with amnesia. The romance was top notch. Easily one of my favorites. Do not skip anything in the last episode.

Romance isn't the main focus but it kinda is. The series is devided into arcs. Every arc is about a different girl, experiencing their own inner struggles. Lead male Sakuta who just feels he needs to be there for every single girl going through their Puberty Syndrome. The first arc of the show starts off with Mai, the girl that walks through a library in a playboy bunny outfit (that's where the clickbait-y name comes from). She is the heroine. The romance is of good quality and happens fairly quickly. Sakuta stays with the same girl.

A collection of various love stories. I really enjoyed it. Lighthearted and cute.

If you're into space operas you're gonna love this. I would've liked this anime even without the romance but the romance was pretty well done.

Don't expect the romance to go anywhere which is the running joke of the anime. I know it defeats the purpose of this list but it's good and got plenty of funny moments.

You probably aren't going to like this if you don't like word heavy anime. Don't get me wrong the fight scenes were great but it was the dialogue that made this anime good. If possible watch the last 2 episodes in one go.

Well... They are literally married.

This one might seem a bit bland and slow to some but it's a really good anime with good character development. It's one of those rare shows that focuses on romantic development and all the problems that comes with it. Watch the ending song of the last episode. It provides a complete and happy ending to it.

This is a great shounen action anime with very good romance. At first Benio and Rokuro doesn't get along well but their feelings gradually change and both fall in love with each other... You get the idea. The ending was good too.

It's a romance anime for a more 'mature audience' they say. Romance may seem like the main focus but I'd say it's more like a slice of life comedy. It was kinda slow but still a good watch with charachters developing over time. It was funny at times too.

Again conflicted about putting this here. It's not a romance show and the MCs doesn't even confess to each other but the romance is so obviouly there. Give it a watch. You might like it. Ignore this anime if you want confirmed romance it's heavily implied that they're gonna end up together but nothing is confirmed. I'm putting it here because I really enjoyed the show.

Shoujo-est shoujo to ever shoujo

Classic popular guy falls for unpopular girl shoujo anime. In this case the girl resembles a ghost but really cute at the same time? so nobody goes near her. You get the idea... It also has a good ending. But I think It could've been done in 24 or maybe 12 episodes instead of 36 (2 seasons combined).

It's complicated. If you like semi-noir style anime with lots of gun fights then you're gonna love it. Romance was definitely there and it was conclusive in my opinion.

Another classic popular guy falls for shy cute girl shojo anime. In this case the girl is kinda antisocial. I watched it a long time ago so I forgot a lot of the details. But it has a conlusive ending.

A bit slow and long but Holo is so cute. In the end of second season Lawrence confesses his love for Holo but Holo being her usual self can't say she loves him too but she so obviously does.

It's a romcom with slight reverse harem elements. You gotta watch the first 2 seasons before watching this. This is basically the ending arc.

Lighthearted, cute and fun with a tiny bit of supernatural thrown in.

This might look like a generic ecchi harem show but don't be fooled. Romance between the two MCs starts very early (4th episode) and their relationship becomes serious a few episodes later. Too bad theres no second season but the ending was good so it's okay I guess.

Not the best of Shinkai. Felt like a discount version of Kimi No Na Wa to me. Still good though. Especially the visuals.
