Lout of Count's Family (Novel)
May 3, 2021Incredibly slow story. Dropped it after 58 chapters.
There is practically nothing exciting happening throughout those chapters. The MC just goes through the motions of doing things that he knows will happen in the story to his own benefit without any challenge or adversary.
All of the side characters become underlings of the MC after some very minor event. Either he gives them food or is nice to them. There's very little reason for all of these character to just become instant subordinates to the MC and follow his requests without quesiton.
There is some hints of some bigger plot but it never shows truly shows itself so it feels like all of the villains are just comically evil.
The only good thing I can say is that the MC is fairly comptent and has a clear goal to fuel his decision making. Every other character is just a tool that exists to do the MC's bidding without any personal desires.

Definately understand where the review is coming but I feel the need to point out that the first 100 chapters are kind of like setting the foundation. It is hard to get through but you cant even skip it cause it is all important info. I will say though that the plot starts there. It keeps gettingbigger and the stakes keep going higher and i love the novel for that. Ofc i understand if its not your type but i commented cause i would hate for you to stop just before the good part and misunderstand the novel.
