The summer challenge is over, and since I tried to improve my ranking in it recently I'm pleased that I got ranked rather high. (At least high in my own perspective; 213.)
I just watched the latest episode of Overlord, and I laughed so much while watching it. Really a great anime. One of the very best fantasy anime out there.
I just finished watching "To Be Heroine". That anime started off in a... Not too interesting and good way. Not acording to me, anyway. Later on, however, it changed and became really good as things got explained and the main plot of the anime was revealed. The last 4 episodes of this 7 episodes long anime were actually really nice, even if the first episodes made it seem like a totally stupid anime at the start... But now after watching all of it, I'm satisfied having watched it. The only thing I find a bit wierd is that last scene at the stairs... But what I mean with that should be understood when you reach the last scene of the anime. Better not say more or it's a spoiler though, even if I thought the scene didn't make a lot of sense. Right, so I ended up giving this anime 4 stars. Have fun watching it.
Yesterday I watched "Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale" and today I watched "Akira". I think that the SAO movie was a bit too long... I think they could have done it a fair bit shorter. Also, I think that the anime series are better than the movie, so I would prefer another season of the anime instead. Still, it's hard to get as much stuff into a 2 hour long movie as it is to get it into a season, maybe this is part of the reason that the story wasn't good enough. I like SAO, but the movie was simply weaker than the anime seasons in my opinion. It's okay, but I feel it could have been better, and that they could have improved the story a bit. Maybe that's just me, but that's how I see it. As for Akira, well, I don't really know what people think is so great about that one... I feel that there are a couple of faults with it, mainly 3 things, I think. First, I rarely like how anime was drawn in older anime. I just don't like how the characters look. It's seriously most of the time about the faces. I don't like that. Sometimes it's about how everything is drawn, but if the faces aren't drawn well enough, then I will be a bit reluctant to watch it. In this regard there are some anime that are worse off, but I still think that the heads and faces in Akira doesn't look very appealing. Secondly, the way that Kei and women are drawn. Kei. Wait... Did I just say that's a woman?! Yes, I did. And that's exactly it. Women in this anime have a tendency to look like males... O.o Also, Kei is looking almost the same as the main character, Kaneda. Third, the plot. It's not explained well enough, there's still stuff that hasn't been explained propperly at the end, in my opinion. All in all, I give Ordinal Scale a 4 and Akira a 3,5. Yay, I've reached 200 animes now.
